One or more photovoltaic cells are in communication with the blade assembly for photovoltaic energy generation, either alone or in combination, with the torque. A means to integrate and combine the photovoltaic energy generating photovoltaic cells into the wind capturing blade assembly.

Compositions having antimicrobial activity contain particles comprising at least one inorganic copper salt; and at least one functionalizing agent in contact with the particles, the functionalizing agent stabilizing the particle in a carrier such that an antimicrobially effective amount of ions are released into the environment of a microbe. The average size of the particles ranges from about 1000 nm to about 3 nm. Preferred copper salts include copper iodide, copper bromide and copper chloride, most preferred being copper iodide. Preferred functionalizing agents comprise materials with a molecular weight of 60 or above, which include amino acids, other acidic materials, thiols, hydrophilic polymers, emulsions of hydrophobic polymers and surfactants. The functionalized particles are preferably made by a grinding process.

Use of high throughput methods to analyze samples for toxic elements originating from industrial hygiene and environmental sampling are described. These methods utilize optical detection methods using plates with arrays and microwells. Methods to fabricate samples in such plates are described. The invention is particularly illustrated by demonstrating its applicability for analysis of beryllium by fluorescence. This invention also discloses the use of improved filtration method compatible with the high throughput methods of sample preparation and analysis.

The apparatus (100) utilizes detection sensor electronics (225) that are separate from the nose chips (310) such that each nose chip (310) can be either reused or discarded after use. The apparatus (100) moves the nose ch (310) and the cork stoppers (110) independently to align the cork stopper and a corresponding nose chip (310) with one another. The testing apparatus (100) uses multiple sensor units (135) to simultaneously test multiple cork stoppers (110) for chemical contaminants (e.g. TCA).

The rehabilitation plans are indexed by scores corresponding to physical dimensions and personal environment dimensions characteristics of the respective individuals having the same medical condition and also by scores representative of actual success results associated with prescribing the respective rehabilitation plans. The database can be queried to identify rehabilitation plans for a dimension whose assessment information matches individual assessment information for the same dimension of an individual requiring rehabilitation for the same medical condition. In addition, the actual success scores can be used to identify rehabilitation plans in the database likely to be successful when prescribed to an individual. The individual assessment information and the identified rehabilitation plan prescribed to the individual, and also feedback obtained from the individual to which an identified plan is prescribed and also success results for the prescribed plan, can be used to update the database.

The identified content, and amplification factors associated with the hearing profile and corresponding to the identified content, are stored on the media.
