Abstract:
Techniques are described for setting the Physical Downlink Control Channel search spaces for component carriers. If any component carrier is de-activated, the Carrier Indicator Fields (CIF) of remaining activated component carriers can be set to consecutive values. The User Element can utilize its identifier to determine the starting point Control Channel Elements in each subframe. The locations of Control Channel Elements for a component carrier can be determined based on its CIF. Accordingly, search spaces for different component carriers can potentially be closely spaced but not overlap.
Abstract:
A core- shell nanowire device includes an eave region having a structural discontinuity from the p-plane in the upper tip portion of the shell to the m-plane in the lower portion of the shell. The eave region has at least 5 atomic percent higher indium content than the p-plane and m-plane portions of the shell.
Abstract:
Provided are methods for preventing and treating inflammation and organ injury after ischemia/reperfusion, and methods for treating lung injury, comprising administering a milk fat globule epidermal growth factor-factor VIII (MFG-E8) to a subject. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising MFG-E8 in dosage form for preventing and treating inflammation and organ injury after ischemia/reperfusion, and for treating lung injury, and methods of preparing a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammation and organ injury after ischemia/reperfusion, and for treating lung injury, comprising formulating MFG-E8 in a pharmaceutical composition.
Abstract:
A bioactive composition includes a hydrogel matrix. At least one protein is immobilized in the hydrogel matrix. The digestive protein has a half-life at least 1000 times longer than the half-life of a free digestive protein counterpart.
Abstract:
A denture adhesive delivery system comprising a primary packaging material which encloses and retains the denture adhesive article and further comprises a means for decreasing the denture adhesive article from sticking to the primary packaging material which can be selected from including a liner, coating one or more of the components of the delivery system with a non-stick coating, and/or minimizing the contact area between the components of the denture adhesive delivery system.
Abstract:
Animal product free (APF) media and processes for the culture and fermentation of botulinum toxin producing Clostridium botulinum bacteria. The botulinum toxin obtained can be used for formulating and compounding botulinum toxin pharmaceutical compositions. The APF media can contain significantly reduced levels of meat or dairy byproducts and use non-animal based products instead of the animal-derived products. Preferably, the APF media used are substantially free or free of animal derived products.
Abstract:
Aspects of mmWave beam tracking and beam sweeping are described, for example, spatial searching operations, directional beam forming, complex channel measurement operations, and adaptive power savings. Some aspects include using priori information for mmWave beam tracking and beam sweeping. Some aspects include using priori information to modify a superset of beam criteria to obtain a subset of beam criteria, select a spatial region according to the subset of beam criteria, and initiate a spatial searching operation within the spatial region for establishing a communication link. Some aspects include obtaining complex channel measurements of beams and combining the measurements with priori information to determine a beam for use in a communication link. Some aspects include providing signals from N r over K 1 input/output (IO) links and receiving signals over K 1 IO links, and combining signals received over the K 1 IO links, using a compression matrix, to generate signals over K IO links.
Abstract:
A method of blow molding an article having at least one layer of thermoplastic material. The method comprises the steps of heating a mold having an inner surface with two or more areas of different surface textures to a first temperature of greater than 55℃and subsequently feeding a parison into the mold. The parison is then blown against the inner surface of the mold to form an article. The temperature of the mold is subsequently lowered to a second temperature of between 20℃to about 55℃and the temperature cycle time (t ct ) of the mold is less than 250 seconds. Using the two phase heating and cooling process in combination with a mold featuring different surface textures provides a finished article with different visual effects.
Abstract:
A blow-molded article comprises a layer having two different thermoplastic materials, wherein the two thermoplastic materials have a Solubility Parameter difference of from about 0.1 cal 1/2 cm -3/2 to about 20 cal 1/2 cm -3/2 , and have a Refractive Index difference of from about 0.01 to about 1.5, and wherein the article is blow molded with a stretch ratio of about 4 to about 30. Such an article has a desirable glossy appearance.
Abstract:
A photonic crystal microsphere, comprising: a plurality of mono-dispersed polymer particles in a closely-packed and regularly-ordered structure, with interstition therebetween, forming the photonic crystal microsphere; and a co-assembly material contained in the interstition. The photonic crystal microsphere provides a structure of enhanced strength and a good color effect.
