Abstract:
The invention relates to a mechanical toothbrush with a dual rotary brushing system, comprising a body forming a handle and a head (1) fixed on said handle, which head (1) is provided with adjacent contrarotating brushes (2, 2') that are of cylindrical shape and have substantially parallel axes, each of them being supported at least at their distal end by a bearing (3, 3') and each being driven by a shaft (4, 4') in the area of the head (1), said shafts (4, 4') being flexible, and each of said two bearings that support them, of which one (3, 3') is situated at their distal end and the other (5, 5') towards the body, being mounted on a support (6) allowing the two brushes (2, 2') to move away from each other and then ensuring that they move towards each other, the support (6) comprising four flexible branches (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) around a central component (6e) serving to fix said support (6) on the head (1) composed of a single arm. The invention lies in the fact that the support (6) and/or the head (1) of the toothbrush are designed such that the support (6) is fixed on the head (1) while at the same time allowing a pivoting of said support (6) about its point of fixation to the head (1). Application to oral hygiene.
Abstract:
An oral care implement is provided with a head platform having a plurality of faces and an insert retention space formed therebetween. The oral care implement can have an insert disposed within the insert retention space. The oral care implement can further include a transparent or translucent support member on one of the faces and a reflective insert within the insert retention space. The oral care implement can include a plurality of support members on the plurality of faces from which cleaning elements extend. The oral care implement can further include a fluid-permeable and/ or air-permeable support member on one of the faces and an insert containing a fluid-permeable and/ or air-permeable agent. The oral care implement can be formed by affixing a first AFT-tufted carrier plate to a first face of the head platform and affixing a second AFT-tufted carrier plate to the second face of the head platform.
Abstract:
A toothbrush has a plurality of replaceable cleaning heads configured to clean a plurality of teeth surfaces simultaneously. The cleaning heads may be configured to clean one row of teeth at a time or bottom and top teeth simultaneously. In a configuration for cleaning bottom and top teeth simultaneously, the cleaning heads for the top teeth are movably offset from the cleaning heads for the bottom teeth to accommodate occlusion. The toothbrush may be manual or electrical. Accessories such as a tongue and cheek scraper and tooth pick are available.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The Invention is a toothbrush which incorporates two parallel-running brush bodies, the front (1) and the rear (2), placed vertically, mutually linked by a connecting segment (3) placed horizontally in the middle between them. Bristles are fixed on the whole inside surface of the brush bodies and on the upper and lower surfaces of the connecting segment, as well as on upper and lower rims of the front and rear brush bodies. On the outside of the front brush body is a hinge (4) which holds the handle (5) and enables it to rotate horizontally by 180 0 . A toothbrush thus conceived allows simultaneous cleaning of the front and rear sides of the upper and lower teeth and massaging of the upper and lower gums. The hinged handle enables easy and efficient manipulation of the brush. Besides, its detachability in the joint between the handle and the brush body makes the toothbrush an environmentally friendly product.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a powered toothbrush containing a decorative sleeve, which sleeve may be permanently attached to the toothbrush handle or may be replaceable by the user.
Abstract:
A toothbrush having a handle and a head secured to the handle includes a gripping section on the handle. A through hole is formed completely through the gripping section from one outer gripping surface to the other. The through hole contains a yieldable material which is preferably a soft elastomeric mass which shifts in response to the application of force. The yieldable material may be air within an air pocket in the through hole where the through hole is covered by thin skins. The yieldable material may be a low hardness elastomer which is adhered to a higher hardness elastomer in the through hole with the higher hardness elastomer adhered to the rigid or semi-rigid handle material.
Abstract:
A duplex shank capable of increasing a width between fork-shaped opening ends by utilizing a deflection caused thereon by grasping, a tooth brush manufactured by using the shank for cleaning both faces of teeth, a dental floss holder capable of arbitrarily increasing the tensed width and tension of a dental floss, a tube cleaner, and tweezers, the duplex shank wherein a connection end (5) is formed by connecting two structural members (3) and (9) in a tuning fork shape and installing a pivot portion (4) functioning as a pivot at the middle position of the shank or the two structural members and the pivot portion are formed integrally with each other by injection molding, and the area of the shank between the pivot portion and the connection end is grasped so that deformed portions moves close to each other so as to cause a deflection on both-end support beams to swing the areas of the structural members between the pivot portion and open ends (1) and (7) starting from near the pivot portion so that a distance (6) between the open ends is increased.
Abstract:
A preferably non-electric, non-mechanically actuated toothbrush is provided having a generally U-shaped appearance with a rotary brush (14, 16) located, during use, on each side of a tooth to be cleaned. The brushes are configured to rotate about an axis (24, 26) which is parallel to the long axis of the tooth to be cleaned, and essentially perpendicular to the buccal and lingual gum line, of the user. The brushes are preferably held in contact with the teeth and gum tissue by a resilient section of the toothbrush. In this fashion, a pushing and pulling motion during brushing results in a rotational motion of the brushes. An improved method for cleansing teeth, cleaning the opening to the gingival crevice area, and stimulation of the gingival tissue is provided.
