Abstract:
A method of providing telecommunication services, comprising: generating a fictitious contact information univocally associated with a telephone number assigned to a subscriber; storing the fictitious contact information in a database, like an ENUM database; responsive to a request, received from a requester, of a contact information corresponding to the telephone number and adapted to allow contacting over the Internet the subscriber assignee of the telephone number, having the database providing said fictitious contact information; conditioning a resolution of the fictitious contact information for the provisioning of the contact information to the satisfaction of at least one security rule adapted to assess properties of at least one among the requester and the request, and in case the request from the requester satisfies the at least one security rule, resolving the fictitious contact information and providing to the requester the contact information.
Abstract:
A method and system for initiating a connection between at least a first communication device and a second communication device respective of a first party and a second party. According to the present invention initiating a connection includes obtaining a destination subscriber identifier from the first party, wherein the destination subscriber identifier is a string including at least one character different than a numeric character and is respective of the second party. Then, a resolution request that includes data indicative of the destination subscriber identifier is conveyed to a hosting information storage server respective of the destination subscriber identifier, a resolution response including a destination address respective of the second communication device wherein the second party is available is obtained, and then, the present invention includes initiating a connection between the first communication device and the second communication device.
Abstract:
A network and method of routing a call between communication networks includes a first step of establishing a reverse ENUM DNS server containing a table of NAPTR records that associate E.164 telephone numbers with identifiers. A next step includes routing a call from an originating PSTN system to a first gateway. A next step includes sending an ENUM query containing an E.164 telephone number to an ENUM DNS server, which returns an identifier associated with the E.164 telephone number. A next step includes routing the call to a second gateway. A next step includes launching a reverse ENUM query containing the identifier to the reverse ENUM DNS server, which looks up an E.164 telephone number associated with the identifier, and returns it to the second gateway. A next step includes routing the call from the second gateway to the returned E.164 telephone number in the terminating PSTN system.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for routing calls or call information. A gateway may span a plurality of networks and determine call routing information based on one or more rules defining a dial plan. Various actions may be taken in response to incoming calls matching rules of the dial plan. User interfaces may be provided that allow editing and/or testing of the dial plan by an administrator.
Abstract:
A method of receiving a communication event from a calling entity located in a communication network comprising a first network and a second network, at a receiving device associated with a user located in the communication system, said method comprising the steps of; associating a first identity recognisable in the first network with a second identity recognisable in the second network for both the user and the calling entity at a data store located in the second network; providing the first and second identities for the calling entity to the receiving device via the second network; receiving at a node in the second network associated with the user, the communication event together with the second identity for the calling entity via the second network, wherein the communication event is addressed with the second identity of the user; querying the data store with the second identity of the calling entity and the second identity of the user to determine the first identity of the calling entity and the first identity of the user; receiving at the receiving device associated with the user the communication event together with the first identity for the calling entity via the first network, wherein the communication event is addressed with the first identity of the user; and determining the second identity of the calling entity at the receiving device associated with the user using the first identity of the calling entity.
Abstract:
The solution involves authenticating a user terminal (UE) in a wireless access network such as WLAN, by utilizing a host identity protocol HIP. In the solution, a HIP responder (HIP-R), after receiving ahost identity tag HIT-I of a HIP initiator (UE) transmits a mapping request to a name server (ENUM), in order to find out the home network of the HIP initiator. When a mapping response including in- formation on a home network of the HIP initiator (UE) is received from the name server (ENUM), the HIP re-sponder (HIP-R) is able to transmit an authentication re- quest (2-5, 2-13) to the home network server (AAAH). The home server (AAAH) receives it and checks HIT-I, and if HIT-I is allowed, an authentication response (2-7, 2-15) is transmitted to the HIP responder (HIP-R). Then the HIP responder (HIP-R) transmits to the HIP initiator a host identity tag HIT-R of the HIP responder (HIP-R).

Abstract:
A method of transmitting messages from a network node in a communication network to a first user device wherein the network node transmits to a second user device a message-waiting notification, identifying the first user device and optionally identifying a node holding the message, and in response to that notification, the second user device transmits a connection request to the first user device, said connection request being acted on by said first user device to establish a connection, optionally with the identified node, whereby said message can be transmitted to said first user device.
