Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, services, and platforms that automatically prompt mobile phone users to add contact information to their phone book after a triggering event such as calling a phone number. The methods, services, and platforms allow mobile network operators to provide a service that allows businesses to potentially have their numbers added to the phonebook of a mobile phone after a disconnected call.
Abstract:
A party (2) in a telecommunications network (1) comprises access information (3) pertaining to communication capabilities the party (2) is able to handle. The party (2) is registered (4) with a unique identity (6) and at least one network contact address (7) at a server (5). Access information required for setting up a communication session with the party (2) is retrieved by initiating, by an entity (8) in the network (1), of a contact request (9) to the server (5) for at least one network contact address (7) of the party (2) from which access information of the party (2) is available. The server (5) forwards the at least one network contact address (6) of the party (2) in a token (10). Using the received at least one network contact address (6), the entity (8) initiates an access request (11) to the party (2) for retrieving access information (3) and receives access information (12) from the party (2) in response to the access request (11).
Abstract:
A client application on a mobile handset that identifies a short message service (SMS) messages in a 411 format and extracts the caller identification information in the SMS message. The client application presents a query on the display or keypad of the mobile handset that allows the subscriber to automatically enter the extracted caller identification information into the contacts or caller information directory on the mobile device.
Abstract:
A system for providing universal access to pre-defined information through a phone, for retrieval and use of said pre-defined information relating to data in any phone, said system comprising: registration means adapted to register at least a first phone with its corresponding phone identification fields for authenticated use with said system; transmission means coupled with said registered phone to transmit said pre-defined information; receiver means adapted to receive said transmitted pre-defined information from each of said registered phones; server means adapted to store said received pre-defined information, in a classified manner; logging means adapted to allow a user to securely log-on to said server means using a second phone; accessing means adapted to allow a user to securely access said information of said first phone using said logged-on second phone; mapping means adapted to map securely accessed said information on said second phone; and phone switching means adapted to allow routing of a call from said second phone using mapped pre-defined information of said first phone.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing directory assistance to erroneous calls. The method and system includes an intercept system that intercepts erroneous calls and automatically routes them to a directory assistance service. The directory assistance service provides a least one advertisement and a variety of other services to the callers using a rule-based expert system service.
Abstract:
A communications terminal (200) including a user interface communicably coupled to a controller is configured to form a group of contacts. In one embodiment, the terminal displays only contacts having at least two attributes in common. In another embodiment, the terminal displays a group of contacts having a social relationship with at least two degrees of social separation relative to a user associated with the group. In another embodiment, a group of contacts is formed upon initiation of an application at the terminal, wherein all contacts in the group are associated with terminals running the same application and are also engaged in a common activity.
Abstract:
A phone network in a wireless environment that does not perform CNAM queries when a number is already stored in the receiving handsets' caller directory. CNAM query fees are charged only to obtain caller information on a new caller. The network does not make CNAM queries when the caller information is already available, whether in the contact information stored on the receiver's handset or through some other reliable source.
Abstract:
A directory assistance system includes a request handling module for receiving a plurality of incoming directory assistance requests from requesters and an agent platform for handling the directory assistance requests by providing at least one listing to the requester, A record database stores a record relating to the first request, and includes a first identifier, a time and a listing entry, An incoming request tracking module tracks second incoming directory assistance requests, by reviewing a second identifier associated with the directory assistance request, comparing the second identifier against the first identifiers in the records, and if a record has a matching first identifier to second identifier from request, then, prior to the second request being sent to the agent platform, offering to automatically provide the stored listing entry from the record to the requester.
