Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide identifying a first set of time intervals for transmissions in a channel using a first wireless communications technology (e.g., a set of LTE-V2X intervals reserved for LTE-V2X transmissions) and a second set of time interval designated for transmissions in the channel using a second wireless communications technology (e.g., a set of D SRC intervals reserved for DSRC transmissions). A ΕΓΕ may determine whether one of the sets of time intervals is available for transmitting V2X messages using one wireless communications technology by performing energy detection for a threshold amount of time. The ΕΓΕ may then, based on the results of the energy detection, transmit the V2X message using the first wireless communication technology during a second set of time intervals or during a subsequent first set of time intervals.

Abstract: The devices, systems, and methods discussed herein include a first user equipment (UE) device receiving, from a base station, discovery resource pool selection criteria prioritizing a first discovery resource pool over a second discovery resource pool. The first UE device senses whether a congestion level of the first discovery resource pool is above a threshold. When the congestion level of the first discovery resource pool is equal to or less than the threshold, the first UE device selects the first discovery resource pool for discovery transmissions. When the congestion level of the first discovery resource pool is above the threshold, the first UE device selects the second discovery resource pool for discovery transmissions.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication includes a first wireless communication device receiving, from a second wireless communication device, one or more signals for each of a plurality of candidate sensing beams and a transmission beam. The method also includes determining, for each of the plurality of candidate sensing beams based on at least one of the one or more signals for the respective candidate sensing beam, a first signal measurement. The method also includes determining, based on at least one of the one or more signals for the transmission beam, a second signal measurement with respect to a direction of the transmission beam, and determining, for each of the plurality of candidate sensing beams based on the respective first signal measurement and the second signal measurement, beam coverage information with respect to the transmission beam direction.

Abstract: A first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus via a sidelink (SL) transmission, first configuration parameters for a first SL DRX group and second configuration parameters for a second SL DRX group. The first apparatus determines that the first apparatus is in a first SL active time for receiving information on the SL based on the first configuration parameters for the first SL DRX group, and in a second SL active time for receiving information on the SL based on the configuration parameter for the second SL DRX group.

Abstract: A sidelink user equipment (UE) limits sensing of received sidelink communications during a sensing window. The UE selects resources for a future transmission from a resource pool that is based on the sensed received sidelink communications. The UE also sends the future transmission on the selected resources. Limiting sensing may result from reducing a maximum distance between reservations to less than 32 logical slots. Limiting sensing may be sensing with a reduced sensing duty cycle with discontinuous sensing or sensing for a period of time in response to a trigger. The UE may perform partial sensing for periodic traffic, and limit sensing for aperiodic traffic.

Abstract: Technology-specific listen before talk (LBT) parameter adjustments are disclosed for common energy detection (ED) thresholds. Some of the technologies sharing access to the same shared communication spectrum include additional access deferral procedures. Such technologies may be configured with additional compensating features to increase the likelihood of fairness in spectrum access across all technologies sharing a common ED threshold. Such additional compensating features may include a reduced contention window size relative to the technologies that do not include such additional access deferral procedures, increased maximum channel occupancy times (COTs) for longer transmissions, and the like. Each such additional compensating feature may be available under different circumstances, such as always available or available in response to the node activating one of the additional access deferral procedures. Additionally, such additional compensating features may, once initiated, be active and available for a predetermined period of time.
