Abstract:
An electronic equipment which provides an easier-to-use interface for the changing of the settings of various parameters on an LCD panel or the screen of a computer by the pushing by a user of a simple ON/OFF switch or holding it down, includes a switch connected to a pressure-sensitive unit, a processing circuit that performs processing depending on an output value of the switch, and a display unit that displays the results of processing of the processing circuit. The processing circuit changes the settings of parameters of electronic equipment in increments depending on the output value of the switch.
Abstract:
A recording medium on which is recorded a computer-readable and executable software program that performs processing by taking as instructions an output from a controller used in an entertainment system. The controller has a pressure-sensitive unit. The software progam used in the entertainment system, in a mode in which the viewpoint position of objects within the screen of the entertainment system is switched, switches the position of the viewpoint of an object depending on the output of the controller.
Abstract:
An operating apparatus and a signal-output modulating method therefor allow analogous operations to be implemented by use of press-operational operation elements that have conventionally been used for digital operations. In the operating apparatus, detecting elements are provided, each of which is formed of a resistant material and a conductive material. The detecting elements individually output analog signals corresponding to press-operations performed on the operation elements. Output-level range of an analog signal outputted from the detecting element is divided by a level divider (15) into multiple levels, and an analog-digital (A-D) converter (16) performs conversion thereof to an analog signal converted digital signals corresponding to the output levels. In addition, output levels of the individual digital signals outputted from the A-D converter are shifted by a level corrector (17) according to a predetermined corresponding reference, and the digital signals are thereby output.
Abstract:
A circuit for efficiently time-sharing the output and input configuration of a microprocessor I/O pin. The circuit includes a microprocessor having at least one I/O pin which can be selectively reconfigured for either output or input functions, a pull-up resistor, a dropping resistor and an output device. The pull-up resistor, dropping resistor and output device each have a common electrical connection at a terminal connected to the selected I/O pin. The pull-up resistor also has a terminal connected to the regulated power supply (Vcc) of the circuit. An input device or configuration switch, which is selectable between a first state and a second state, has one terminal connected to the dropping resistor and a second terminal connected to a point of the circuit at ground potential. The selected I/O pin is normally configured as an output pin for controlling the output device. At one or more intervals, as determined by a software program, the selected I/O pin will be reconfigured for input and will read the status of the input device. The input device will provide a logical condition "1" or a logical condition "0" input status to the selected I/O pin depending on its selectable state of open or closed. The logical "1" or "0" is represented by a voltage level. The interval at which the selected I/O pin will be reconfigured for input is determined by both the type of output device being controlled and the type of input represented by the input device. The pull-up and dropping resistors have a resistance value ratio of 10:1 or greater. The actual resistance values are selected such that the output signal from the selected I/O pin can override the representative voltage levels of the logical conditions "1" or "0" of the input device when the selected I/O pin is configured for output.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A first current is driven through a first current path from a first common node, through a key matrix, and to a second common node when a key is pressed. A first measurement of the first current path resistance is made. A second current is then driven through a second current path from the second common node, through the key matrix, and to the first common node. A second measurement of the second current path resistance is made. The first and second measurements are used to identify the key that was pressed. Each key corresponds to a unique pair of first and second measurement values. In one example, non-linear resistance circuits are disposed at the ends of the row and column conductors of the key matrix such that a row resistor in the first current path is measured independently of a column resistor in the second current path.
Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to develop a keyboard for compact mobile electronic appliances, said keyboard comprising an integrated signal detection element and enabling simple data input and simultaneous continuous control possibilities using a plurality of keys; an electronic inquiry mechanism for actuating the keys; and an evaluation method for a momentary key position during the continuous actuation of individual keys. To this end, keys which are applied in a mobile manner and provided with a spring suspension are mechanically coupled, on the lower side thereof, to a continuous strip conductor extending over at least one key and having a high electrical resistance, such that when the keys are actuated, the strip conductor comes into contact with another strip conductor, in the actuation position, said other strip conductor extending over all of the keys and having a low electrical resistance, and an analog-digital converter AD0 determines the electrical resistance or voltage drop between the strip conductor and an end of the strip conductor, said measuring value being unequivocally associated with a defined key and the actuation position on said key.
