Abstract:
Abstract:
One aspect of the invention provides a wearable device including: at least one compliant region adapted and configured to be placed over a joint of a subject and at least two flexible but less compliant regions coupled to opposite ends of the compliant region. Another aspect of the invention provides a wearable robotic device including a wearable device as described herein and at least one actuator adapted and configured to move the flexible but less compliant regions relative to each other.
Abstract:
A system for monitoring the use of a walker comprising: at least one sensor adapted for retrofitting to a walker, for measuring a physical parameter at at least one location on the walker and for sending at least one feedback signal indicating a value of the physical parameter measured.
Abstract:
A system and method for assessing a patient's balancing ability in order to facilitate ascertaining the patient's current medical status. The system includes a balance plate for measuring the center of gravity dynamic weight distribution in combination with a sensor for measuring the patient's fine motor skills.
Abstract:
A data acquisition device (10) representing a virtual object and adapted to be attached to a positional sensing device (60) comprises a handle (5) having at least one sensor (121, 122, 123) allowing a user of the device (10) to issue a handling signal of the data acquisition device (10). The handle (5) comprises at least two surface areas (110) adapted to be pushed in direction of the body of the handle (5). At least one force sensor (121, 122, 123) is associated to each of said surface areas (1 10) adapted to sense a pushing force of the user grasping and/or pressing the handle via the surface areas (110).
Abstract:
A force sensing and exercise device for assessment and therapeutic usage is described herein. The force sensing device may include a registration plate, to form a ridge with a body part of a patient and provide a fixed point from which measurements are taken. The force sensing device allows for linear movement as a component of the measurement and the ability to vary exercise resistance continuously over an exercise range. Tactile and auditory feedback is provided to a patient to indicate than an exercise objective has been achieved.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method and system for predicting the behavior of an audience based on the biologically based responses of the audience to a presentation that provides a sensory stimulating experience and determining a measure of the level and pattern of engagement of that audience to the presentation. In particular, the invention is directed to a method and system for predicting whether an audience is likely to view a presentation in its entirety. In addition, the present invention may be used to determine the point at which an audience is likely to change their attention to an alternative sensory stimulating experience including fast forwarding through recorded content, changing the channel or leaving the room when viewing live content, or otherwise redirecting their engagement from the sensory stimulating experience.
