    摘要: A wheel for railway train, metro train, light rail train, high speed railway train comprises a wheel body. A damping plate made of damping material is mounted on at lest part of the non-working surface of the wheel body. When the train with the wheel according to the invention is running, the deformation of the damping plate generating by the wheel vibration is mainly the shearing deformation. The damping plate generates resistance against the deformation because of damping characteristic, transforming the vibration energy into heat energy, so the vibration of the wheel is reduced. Accordingly the noise pollution is reduced.

In one embodiment, a railroad wheel has a body (12) formed from a first alloy and a rim (28) formed from a second alloy initially in powder form. The perimeter of the body is enveloped with a material, such as sheet metal, to form a cavity defined by the channel and the sheet metal. The second alloy in the form of a powder is placed in the cavity and subjected to heat and pressure to metallurgically weld the first and second alloys and form a composite railroad wheel.
