Abstract:
The invention refers to a pant-type absorbent article comprising a first body panel (16) and a second body panel (17), said first and second body panels being interconnected by side panels (24). The respective side panel (24) is formed by a bridge member (26) having a first longitudinal edge portion (27) attached to the first body panel (16) and a second longitudinal edge portion (28) attached to the second body panel (17), said bridge before use of the article being folded in an accordion-like fashion and can be extended and unfolded when the article is to be used so as to form said side panels (24) of the article. In one embodiment at least one of said bridge members (26) is refastenably attached to one body panel, wherein a first fastening member (29) is arranged on said bridge member at or close to one longitudinal edge portion (28) thereof and a complementary second fastening member (30) is arranged on the respective body panel.
Abstract:
An absorbent core (5) in an absorbent article is provided with at least two folding guides (17, 18) extending in a substantially longitudinal direction (y) in the crotch region and dividing at least a part of the crotch region of the absorbent core in a central portion (19) and two lateral portions (20, 21) as seen in a transverse direction (x). At least two stretchable crotch elastic members (22, 23) are arranged in the crotch portion of the article and are attached to the absorbent core (5) and/or to the inner or outer cover (6; 7). At least a substantial portion of the crotch elastic members are positioned laterally outside the respective folding guide (17, 18) so as to cause said two lateral portions (20, 21) of the absorbent core to be raised along said folding guides with respect to the central portion (9).
Abstract:
An absorbent garment, such as a diaper, folded in a manner that prevents leg elastics from remaining folded inward in a crotch region during product application. Each of two transversely opposed distal edges in a back waist region and each of two transversely opposed distal edges in a front waist region are folded onto a surface of the garment along respective longitudinal fold lines. The garment is also folded along at least one transverse fold line. A distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back waist region may be greater than a distance between transversely opposed leg elastics in a crotch region of the garment. A distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back waist region may be less than a combined distance between each of the transversely opposed distal edges of the back waist region and the respective longitudinal fold line.
Abstract:
A body fluid absorbing article generally having a large absorbing capacity though a thickness is small and capable of wearing a long period by effectively utilizing the entire area of the absorbing material, wherein the absorbing material (25) comprising a shrinkage material (27) shrunk by itself when brought into contact with urine passing through a permeable surface layer provided on the side thereof facing the skin of a body and a body fluid absorbing material (26) substantially formed integrally with the shrinkage member (27) is disposed over a leak prevention layer provided on the side thereof apart from the skin of the body.
Abstract:
Absorbent article such as a diaper and an incontinence guard provided with a pair of belt members (9) attached to the rear portion (6) of the article and which are intended to be fastened together around the waist of the wearer and where said front portion (5) is provided with fastening means (8) intended to be fastened to the belt members (9), in such a way that the article will assume a pantlike shape, where the belt members (9) form a part of the waist portions of the pant. The belt members (9) are before use double-folded and cut in an arcuate shape in which the tangent (12) to the arcuate curve (13) formed by the respective longitudinal edges (91a,b) of the belt members (9) in the area of the fold (14) makes a substantially right angle to the fold. The belt members are in their double folded condition applied to the rear portion (6) of the article, and when the article is to be used they are intended to be unfolded, at which the belt members in their unfolded position form an arcuate shape where the portions on either sides of the fold (14) are the mirror image of each other.
Abstract:
An absorbent article, in particular a diaper, having a composite comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent structure in between, which upon application of a deformation force first buckles with a certain buckling resistance corresponding to a buckling force, whereby upon further deformation the buckling deformation mechanism changes to a bending deformation mechanism with a corresponding lower deformation force.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a diaper having a front part (12), a back part (14) and an intermediate crotch part (13) which includes an absorbent body unit (1) which is joined to a fluid-impermeable bottom sheet (7) and to a fluid-permeable top sheet (9) which lies proximal to the warer's body in use and which includes an opening (15) situated in the back part and crotch part of the diaper and stretch-mounted elastic devices (20, 21), and which is not attached to the absorbent body at least within the region of said opening (15), wherein the absorbent body unit (1) includes a main body (2) which is provided with a leg recess on respective sides thereof, and two side-bodies (3, 4) which are placed laterally outside the main body on respective sides thereof and in respective leg recesses. According to the invention the absorbent body unit (1) is enclosed between the bottom sheet (7) and an inner casing sheet (8) made of fluid-permeable material, said sheets being mutually joined at parts which lie outside the absorbent body and carry stretch-mounted elastic elements (10, 11) along their respective side edges within at least the central part of the diaper; in that each side-body (3, 4) has an arcuate edge on that side (22) thereof which lies proximal to a respective leg recess in the main body (2); in that the side-bodies are spaced from the main body (2); and in that the inner casing sheet (8) is joined to the bottom sheet (7) in those gaps that are formed in the leg recesses between the main body and the side-bodies.
