Es werden photolabile Duftspeicherstoffe beschrieben, die zur photoindizierten Freisetzung von cyclischen Verbindungen mit semicyclischer Doppelbindung befähigt sind.Weiterhin wird ein Verfahren zur lang anhaltenden Beduftung von Oberflächen und ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der genannten Duftspeicherstoffe beschrieben.

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a crystalline isomeric mixture of compounds of formulae (I) and (II) which process comprises the following steps: a) the slow addition of aluminium chloride, in portions, to a solution comprising 1,1,3-trimethyl-3-phenylindan and isobutyric acid halide in a suitable solvent at a reaction temperature of from -20°C to 20°C, an isomeric mixture consisting of compounds of formulae (la) and (Ila) being obtained; b) enol chlorination of compounds (la) and (Ila), an isomeric mixture consisting of compounds of formulae (lb) and (IIb) being obtained; c) hydrolysis of the chlorinated isomeric mixture from step b). The invention relates also to the preparation of the individual compounds (I) and (II).

The invention concerns Spirobifluorene derivatives having the general formula (II) and the corresponding, radical anions that can be represented via the general formula (II), in which K, L, M and N, the same or different from each other, are independently: H or A-C=O, with the proviso that it is never K = L = M = N = H, wherein A is an aromatic group, possibly substituted with at least an R' group selected in the group of the substituents commonly used in organic chemistry and/or at least one R group where R = aliphatic radical. The invention also concerns the method for preparing said derivatives and radical anions. Said compounds are applied in the field of components for molecular electronics, in particular systems for electroluminescence, molecularbased computational systems, OLEDs, molecular switching components, components for non-linear optics, field-effect transistors and semiconductors with negative differential resistance.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing 1-indanones of formula (I) and isomers thereof, wherein R , R , R , R , R , and R independently represent H or a C1-C20 hydrocarbon group or R and R or R and R or R and R and/or R and R together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a saturated or unsaturated 5- or 6-membered ring, said hydrocarbon group and/or said ring optionally containing one or more hereto atoms, said ring optionally being substituted with a C1-C4 hydrocarbon group, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula (II), wherein R , R , R , R , R , and R have the same meaning as defined above, with a chlorinating agent, followed by reaction with a Friedel-Crafts catalyst.
