Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to the field of occupancy detection, and more particularly to an occupancy detection system and a corresponding method suitable for a presence controlled system. A method and system for determining occupancy of a room is provided, in which a signal from a movement sensor positioned in the room is analyzed to detect variations in the signal which correspond to movements of an occupant of the room. The room is determined to be empty if in the received signal a leave pattern is identified. The leave pattern is a predetermined pattern which has been associated with an occupant leaving the room. The method and system provide reliable occupancy detection in more or less static environments like for instance offices, and when utilized in for instance a presence controlled lighting system, the number of frustrating erroneous "switch-off" events of the light in a situation where a room is still occupied by occupants involved in relative still/static activities is then decreased.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for identifying initiation items. The method for identifying an initiation item comprises: obtaining a description string of the initiation item to be identified; matching the obtained description string of the initiation item to be identified with a pre-stored fuzzy matching pattern for the description string of the initiation item in accordance with a preset matching rule to determine whether there is a successful match; and if there is a successful match, identifying the obtained description string of the initiation item to be identified with the matched fuzzy matching pattern. In accordance with the embodiments of the present invention, the identification of initiation items can be enhanced, the size of the configuration file storing the initiation items can be reduced, and the speed of reading the initiation items can be increased.

Systems and methods for automatically analyzing and selecting prominent channels from multi-dimensional biomedical signals in order to detect particular diseases or ailments are provided. Such systems and methods may be applied in different ways to obtain numerous benefits, such as lowering of power and processing requirements, reducing an amount of data acquired, simplifying hardware deployment, detecting non- trivial patterns, obtaining, clinical episode prognosis, improving patient care, and/or the like.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and devices, among which is a device that includes a finite state machine lattice (30). The lattice (30) may include a counter (58) suitable for counting a number of times a programmable element (34, 36) in the lattice (30) detects a condition. The counter (58) may be configured to output in response to counting the condition was detected a certain number of times. For example, the counter (58) may be configured to output in response to determining a condition was detected at least (or no more than) the certain number of times, determining the condition was detected exactly the certain number of times, or determining the condition was detected within a certain range of times. The counter (58) may be coupled to other counters (58) in the device for determining high-count operations and/or certain quantifiers.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include apparatus and methods to provide pipe analysis, annulus analysis, or one or more combinations of pipe analysis and annulus analysis with respect to one or more pipes in a wellbore. The analysis can include application of clustering and classification methods with respect to the status and the environment of the one or more pipes in the wellbore. In various embodiments, the clustering and classification can be used in characterizing borehole annular material including cement bond quality evaluation. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Abstract:
A system (10) and method (50) for displaying relationships between concepts to provide classification suggestions via injection is provided. A reference set (14d) of concepts each associated with a classification code is designated. Clusters (130) of uncoded concepts (14c) are designated. One or more of the uncoded concepts (14c) from at least one cluster (130) are compared to the reference set (14d). At least one of the concepts in the reference set (14d) that is similar to the one or more uncoded concepts (14c) is identified. The similar concepts (14d) are injected into the at least one cluster (130). Relationships between the uncoded concepts (14c) and the similar concepts (14d) in the at least one cluster (130) are visually depicted as suggestions for classifying the uncoded concepts (14c).
Abstract:
A system (11) and method (40) for providing reference documents (14b) as a suggestion for classifying uncoded documents (14a) is provided. Reference electronically stored information items (14b) and a set of uncoded electronically stored information items (14a) are designated. Each of the reference information items are previously classified. At least one uncoded electronically stored information item (14a) is compared with the reference electronically stored information items (14b). One or more of the reference electronically stored information items (14b) similar to the at least one uncoded electronically stored information items (14a) are identified. Relationships are depicted between the at least one uncoded electronically stored information item (14a) and the similar reference electronically stored information items (14b) for classifying the at least one uncoded electronically stored information item (14a).
Abstract:
A system (11) and method (40) for providing a classification (82) suggestion for electronically stored information (13) is provided. A corpus of electronically stored information (13) including reference electronically stored information items (14b) each associated with a classification (82) and uncoded electronically stored information items (14a) are maintained. A cluster (93) of uncoded electronically stored information items (14a) and reference electronically stored information items (14b) is provided. A neighborhood (70) of reference electronically stored information items in the cluster (93) is determined for at least one of the uncoded electronically stored information items (14a). A classification (82) of the neighborhood (70) is determined using a classifier. The classification (82) of the neighborhood (70) is suggested as a classification (82) for the at least one uncoded electronically stored information item (14a).
