Abstract:
Insulating concrete forms (ICF) are used in the construction of residential buildings. An entire wall panel is formed from polystyrene panels that may be cut by a hot wire machine. Hat channel shaped support materials may be inserted into hat channel slots. Columns of polystyrene may be removed to accept structural fill material (SFM) therein after the wall panel has been secured into place with column reinforcing members (CRM) also being located therein. The SFM and CRM could also be used along the top of the wall panel. Electrical and plumbing connection pathways may be provided in the wall panel. Each wall panel is separately designed and cut by hot wire while still at the factory, but are connected together to form an ICF residence. Openings are provided for doors and windows and are buck framed. Hat channel shaped support materials are inserted as necessary for strength and/or connection thereto.

The present invention provides a shipping container, a paper tube, an end cap and a method. The shipping container includes a tube and an end cap. The tube has a cylindrical body and an open end. The cylindrical body has a mounting opening formed therein adjacent to the open end. The end cap includes a circular sidewall that is adapted to be received by the open end of the tube such that either the circular sidewall is surrounded by the cylindrical body or the cylindrical body is radially surrounded by the circular sidewall. The circular sidewall includes a projection that extends away from the circular sidewall and into the mounting opening so as to releasable secure the end cap to the tube.
Abstract:
The invention relates to metal protectors for threaded extremities of pipe joints for the drilling of oil, gas and geothermal wells. The protectors are intended to protect the threads and seals of the assembly joint against shocks during transportation and handling in the wells and also eliminate the need to use a cardboard washer, which is only used to deliver the product, exposing the seal to shocks during handling in the wells after deterioration of the cardboard washer, considering that cardboard does not provide the same protection against impacts and shocks as steel.

A protector assembly for covering a pin of a threaded pipe and a method for assembling such a protector assembly. The protector assembly comprises a cover, a retainer and at least one fastener for fastening the retainer to the cover. The cover includes a tubular portion defining a longitudinal axis from a closed end to an open end, the open end defining a rim for axial abutment with the retainer. The retainer has an abutment face for abutment with the rim. The rim comprises a bore extending therethrough. A fastener extends through the bore of the rim and engages the retainer, the fastener extending substantially in parallel with the longitudinal axis and exposed on the cover side of the bore of the rim for engagement by a tool or user to operate the fastener.

A thread protection system for a wellbore tubular includes a thread protector and a self-aligning bit. The thread protector has an insert portion at one end and a drive portion at an opposite end. The insert portion is engageable with an end of the wellbore tubular. The drive portion has a central cavity axially positioned about the thread protector and a plurality of pockets radially disposed about the central cavity. The self-aligning bit includes a platform with a central hub and a plurality of fingers extending perpendicularly from a driven side of the platform. The fingers are radially disposed about the central hub. The central hub is slidingly receivable in the central cavity. Each finger has a tapered tip slidingly receivable into the plurality of pockets. The self-aligning bit is rotationally drivable by a driver whereby the thread protector is removably connectable to the wellbore tubular.

An apparatus is proposed for applying and removing protective caps (1) to and from the ends of elongate members (6). The protective cap (1) has a hard base portion (5) and a cover portion (2) of flexible, resilient material, extending from the base portion (5) and operative to cover a portion of an outer surface of the elongate member (6). The apparatus comprises: a gripping mechanism (44) operative to grip the hard base portion (5) of the protective cap (1); a drive mechanism, connected to the gripping mechanism (44), operative to move the protective cap (1) to and from the end of the elongate member (6); and a tool operative to perform at least one of the operations of (i) unfurling the cover portion to secure it to the outer surface of the elongate member, (ii) furling the cover portion to detach it from the outer surface of the elongate member.

The present invention relates to a tubular profile (1) closer (3), in particular a tubular handrail closer, comprising a retaining body (311) fitted to the radially internal surface of the tubular profile (1) and provided with fastening means apt for blocking the closer (3) inside the tubular profile (1). In order to provide a closer (3) featuring a simple and economic construction enabling simple, solid and aesthetic closing a handrail or handle opening, said closer (3) comprises at least two clamping segments (31) made of plastic and defining said retaining body (311), wherein a lid (32), preferably made of metal, is seated between said clamping segments (31). Preferably said fastening means have a form of, preferably, circumferential clamping projections (313) that are deformed during positioning said closer (3) in its assembled state in said tubular profile (1).
