Size tailorable tracks useful for connecting a first construction element (e.g., a transition molding) to a second construction element (e.g., a surface of a subfloor). In certain non-limiting embodiments, tracks which are scored during the manufacturing process to form weakened break junctions at which sections of the tracks may be separated by hand (e.g., typically "on site") without the use of a cutting device. In certain additional, non-limiting embodiments, methods of using size tailorable tracks as well as track manufacturing systems, machines, and methods.

Die erfindungsgemässe Tragstruktur besteht aus einem Zug-Druckelement (1), welches aufgebaut ist aus in echten Gelenken (3) verbundenen Zug-Druckstäben (2) und von Gelenk (3) zu Gelenk (3) laufenden Zugbändern (4). Die zuäusserst liegenden Zug-Druckstäbe (2) sind je in einem Knoten (9) verbunden. Zwei von einer Hülle (6) umfasste mit Druckluft beaufschlagte Hohlkörper sind beidseitig einer durch das Zug-Druckelement (1) verlaufenden Ebene angeordnet; die in der Hülle (6) dadurch aufgebauten Linienspannungen σ spannen in der Ebene des Zug-Druckelementes (1) die Zugbänder (4) vor und sichern die Zug-Druckstäbe (2) gegen Knicken und stabilisieren die Gelenke (3). Die quer zur genannten Symmetrieebene verlaufenden Komponenten der Linienspannungen versteifen das Zug-Druckelement (1) gegen seitliches Knicken. In die Hohlkörper (5) können luftdichte, allenfalls elastische Luftkörper (7) eingelegt sein.

An improved radio frequency wave attenuating wall (ceiling or floor) or door material comprises a laminated structure having as an integral part thereof one or more layers of a viscoelastic material which also functions as a glue and one or more electrically conducting layers. An electrically conducting material such as tape or a formed metal channel provides an electrical connection between the electrically conducting material and an exposed outer surface of the laminated structure. In one embodiment the electrically conducting material is paint. In one embodiment , standard wallboard, typically gypsum, comprises the external surfaces of the laminated structure and one or more conductive layers are constructed between the gypsum exterior. In one embodiment, the conducting layer material is selected to provide physical security in addition to radio frequency wave attenuation. The construction is such that acoustical attenuation is also achieved.

A rigid pipe (1) is achieved according to the invention in that half-cylinder shaped elements (2) are joined/hinged (3) to each other and where to a such chains are connected together with their concave sides in a zipper-like motion. The two half-cylindrical chains are spooled (13) up individually on each side of a housing (12). This result in a particularly rigid pipe of varying length with a wide area of use.

A pole (14), such as for a parking meter (26), that is reinforced by a hardening compound applied to its surface, preferably in vertical strips (20), to prevent theft, and a method of anchoring the pole. A pipe (24) with a slightly greater diameter than the pole is placed over and around the pole. Preferably, the pole is welded to a base plate (16), with hollow metal cylinders (18) welded to and extending from an opposite surface of the plate. Holes (12) are drilled in a concrete surface (10), epoxy is inserted into the holes, the metal cylinders are inserted into the holes, and when the epoxy hardens the cylinders and base plate are bonded to the concrete. Preferably, circular transverse holes are made in the top of the pole using a plasma cutter, and expander jaws (46) are then welded to the interior of the pole, to securely attach the head (42) of the parking meter to the pole.

A modular structure for use in displays and exhibitions wherein three girders (18, 20, 22) are affixed to vertical columns (12, 14, 16) in a triangular pattern having a right triangle. Triangular floor panels (40) are supported by longitudinal flanges (60) on the girders to provide an elevated load-bearing surface (64). The structure, girders, and floor panels are designed for rapid assembly and take down.
