Abstract:
A system operating on a computing device can determine a set of location data points of the computing device during progress of a transport service, and can transmit the set of location data points to a network service. The system can transmit, to the network service, a message indicating that the transport service has been completed. The system determines whether a predetermined duration of time has elapsed since transmitting the message indicating that the transport service has been completed, during which a predefined message has not been received by the application from the network service. The predefined message is associated with a confirmation that the transport service has been processed by the network service. If the predetermined duration of time has elapsed during which the predefined message has not been received, the system displays first content as opposed to second content on the computing device.
Abstract:
A food preparation device or system utilizes pre-packaged food containers to prepare a food Item for consumption. The food preparation device comprises: a housing, the housing having an opening that is dimensioned to receive a food container of a pre-determined dimension; an extraction mechanism provided with the opening to extract a food Item from each of the one or more containers; a preparation receptacle, positioned to receive the food Item extracted from each of the one or more containers; a heating mechanism to heat the preparation receptacle; and a processing resource to: identify a recipe; determine a set of food containers that include food Items specified in the recipe; verify that a set of food containers are positioned in the opening of the housing; control the extraction mechanism in extracting food Items specified in the recipe from each container in the set of food containers; and control the heating mechanism in heating the preparation receptacle with the specified food Items from the recipe.
Abstract:
A system and method for arranging an on-demand service is described. A computing device can maintain a queue that includes a plurality of user identifiers corresponding to a plurality of users. Each user identifier is added to the queue in response to receiving a request for service from a corresponding user. The computing device receives information from a device of a service provider that the service provider is available to provide service to users. In response to receiving the information, the computing device selects a user identifier from the queue to assign a corresponding user to the service provider based, at least in part, on specified on-demand service locations corresponding to the plurality of user identifiers and a current location of the service provider.
Abstract:
A mobile computing device is operated to control a vehicle. A digital key for accessing a vehicle is stored for accessing the vehicle. Profile information is associated with the digital key for configuring operation and/or use of a vehicle. The profile information may include one or more outside parameters for implementing one or more pre-entry vehicle configurations. When one or more proximity conditions are detected as being satisfied as between the mobile computing device and the vehicle, a communication is sent to the vehicle in order to cause the vehicle to implement one or more pre-entry vehicle configurations. The communication can be based on the digital key and may specify the one or more outside parameters.
Abstract:
A valuation of a subject item includes determining a transaction price for one or more comparable items. For each comparable transaction, one or more unsuccessful offers is determined. The valuation of the subject item may be based on a valuation of each of the one or more comparable items, and the valuation of each of the one or more comparable items may be based at least in part on the one or more unsuccessful offers for that item.
Abstract:
A method for requesting an on-demand service on a computing device is provided. One or more processors determine the current location of the computing device. A multistate selection feature of a plurality of service options for providing the on-demand service is presented on the display of the computing device. The multistate selection feature enables a user to select a service option that is available within a region that includes the current location to provide the on-demand service. In response to the user selecting one of the plurality of service options, a summary user interface is presented on the display to provide region-specific information about the on-demand service based on the selected service option.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for charging a power source of a device. The method is performed by one or more processors. The one or more processors detect that a charging interface of the device and a charging interface of a charging dock are misaligned when the device is placed into contact or operational proximity with the charging dock. The device is automatically caused to move relative to the charging dock to achieve alignment.
Abstract:
A policy framework is maintained on the computing device, and the computing device communicates with a policy server of an enterprise network over a network to receive a set of policy instructions. The policy instructions are executed through the policy framework in order to implement one or more policies that control the mobile computing device's access to resources of the enterprise network.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to voltage switchable dielectric (VSD) materials and supporting impedance elements, and to structures, methods and devices employing voltage switchable dielectric materials and supporting impedance elements to achieve protection against ESD events, wherein the VSD materials and/or supporting impedance elements are incorporated in first level and/or second level packages, and wherein the first level package may be a die attached to a substrate and the second level package may be a circuit board to which the first level package is attached.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide apparatus, systems and methods for the detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) using photoacoustic measurement of hemoglobin in different states of oxygenation within tissue. One embodiment of a system for DVT detection comprises at least a first and second light source that emit light at first and second wavelengths, an acoustic transducer, a data converter and a processor. The first and second light sources are directed on the patient's skin to produce a photoacoustic signal (PS) correlated to an amount of absorbance of the first and second wavelengths by a target region of tissue beneath the patient's skin. The acoustic transducer detects the PS and transduces it into an electrical signal which is correlated to the PS. The data converter converts the electrical signal into a digital signal which is analyzed by the processor to detect the presence of DVT within the target region.
