    摘要: A system comprising a blood circuit including a membrane arranged in a blood filter (7) in which blood is in contact with a first side of said membrane; and a dialysis circuit in which a dialysis fluid is in contact with the other side of the membrane for exchange of substances and ions through the membrane as well as water. The dialysis fluid is circulated from a dialysis compartment and through a RO filter (9) . The permeate fluid, i.e. water is returned to the dialysis compartment. The retentate fluid from the RO filter (9) passes through a separation filter (13) . The retentate fluid is returned to the dialysis compartment and the permeate fluid is removed from the dialysis circuit as a waste fluid to a receptacle (19) . The retentate fluid is concentrated in the RO filter in a ration of at least 3:1.

    摘要: The current invention provides improved methods and filter stacks for concentrating a slurry of titanium dioxide. The improved filter stack comprises a series of filter disks and diverter trays arranged in parallel. The present invention provides an improvement over prior art filter stacks by using a substantially complete weld to attach a diverter plate to the diverter trays. The current invention also provides an improved method for pre-conditioning a filter stack. The improved method is designed to pre-condition and gradually prepare the filter stack for production of the desired slurry of titanium dioxide. Further, the current invention provides an improved process for preparing and transporting a slurry of titanium dioxide. Finally, the current invention provides a method for enhancing the lifespan of a filter stack. The method for enhancing the lifespan of the filter stack continuously monitors the flow rate and specific gravity of fluids produced from the filter stack and signals the need for flushing of the filter stack.

    摘要: A fluid distributor for use in a membrane adsorption module has a plurality of fluid distribution channels extending radially from a central passage for fluid flow and formed on an interior surface of a housing or housing adaptor that receives a membrane stack. The channels are cut so that they are deeper adjacent to the central passage in the housing or housing adaptor and shallower remote from the central passage. Fluid is distributed through the channels before impinging on the membranes or on a porous disc lying adjacent to the membranes. The fluid distributor may also be used as a fluid collector to collect fluid after the fluid leaves the membrane stack and before entering a fluid outlet passage formed in the housing.

    摘要: The present invention improves the flow dynamics about the leading edges of the sealed apertures within a filtration cassette by flowing a sealing resin so that it protrudes into the main passageway defined by the porous screens thereof. The sealing resin defines at least an end portion of a fluid channel in each passageway. Desirably, the sealing resin extends into the passageways so as to significantly reduce or eliminate the formation of non-uniformities in fluid flow therethrough. The porous mesh may define apertures shaped so as to direct the resin during vacuum drawing to a desired location in the flow channels. The porous mesh may further include a shaped perimetrical edge which also assists in the drawing of a flowable resin into the porous mesh to further define the flow channels so as to significantly reduce or eliminate the formation of non-uniformities in the fluid flow.
