Abstract:
User Authentication A mobile user authentication application is operable to perform one or more of the following operations: . authenticate a user in a voice call to a telephony service, by passing an authentication code to the telephony service within the voice call [Figures 2, 2c]; . validate a user instruction during a secure messaging session [Figure 3]; and . authenticate a user at a physical local service by obtaining a challenge code at that local service, validating the challenge code with a remote authentication service, obtain a confirmation code from the authentication service and presenting the confirmation code for validation at the local service [Figures 4, 4a and 4b].
Abstract:
The various embodiments herein provide a dongle device with a communication module for a secure electronic transaction. The dongle device comprises housing provided with a slot for inserting a magnetic stripe card, a slot for inserting a contact type card, a communication module such as a Wireless module or a Bluetooth module or a mobile communication module or a zigbee module, a key pad, a connector, a cover for safeguarding the connector, a stylus, a universal serial bus (USB) port, a processor and a display. The communication module is a pluggable module to the dongle device. The card is read and the card data are transmitted through the supersonic frequencies or spread spectrum signals to a payment gateway server. The communication module links a transaction originated in a cloud computing server with a payment gateway server through a mobile device to complete a financial transaction.

Abstract:
In some embodiments, an electronic device comprises an input interface, a communication interface, a processor, and logic to initiate, in the electronic device, a secure communication session with a credit server, select at least one credit source, receive, in the electronic device, a payment credential associated with the at least one credit source, receive, from a point of sale device, a request for payment information for a purchase transaction, wherein the request specifies a predetermined format for the payment information, format, in the electronic device, payment information comprising the payment credentials in the predetermined format, and transmit the payment information from the phone to the point of sale device. Other embodiments may be described.
Abstract:
Information is exchanged between a mobile communications device and an automated information system. The mobile communications device is equipped with an acoustic transmitter (speaker) and an acoustic receiver (microphone), and the automated information system is equipped with an acoustic transmitter (speaker) and an acoustic receiver (microphone). The automated information system transmits a first acoustic signal encoded with a first dataset. The mobile communications device receives the first acoustic signal, decodes the first dataset, processes the first dataset, generates a second dataset, encodes the second dataset in a second acoustic signal, and transmits the second acoustic signal. The automated information system receives the second acoustic signal, decodes the second dataset, and processes the second dataset.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses and methods of using an acoustic communication mechanism to transmit data in the form of acoustic data from a mobile device to an electronic device are described. In one embodiment, a method of completing a purchase with a merchant using a mobile device starts with the mobile device sending a request message to a central server through a network interface. The mobile device then receives a token from the central server through the network interface that confirms that a payment in the purchase amount has been received at the merchant's account. This token is then translated into acoustic data and transmitted from the mobile device to an electronic device being associated with the identification of a merchant. Other embodiments are also described.
Abstract:
A user of a wireless device, such as a mobile phone, can make purchases or obtain information via a network, such as the Internet, using both voice and non-verbal methods. Users can submit voice queries and receive non-verbal replies, submit non-verbal queries and receive voice replies, or perform similar operations that marry the voice and data capabilities of modern mobile communication devices. The user may provide notification criteria indicating under what conditions a notification should be sent to the user's wireless device. When purchasing opportunities matching the selected notification criteria become available, the user is notified. The user an respond to the notification, and immediately take advantage of the purchasing opportunity if he so desires. Mixed-mode interactions can also be used by sellers to more advantageously control the marketing of distressed, time sensitive, or other merchandise/services.
