Abstract:
Methods for access points and corresponding payment systems which facilitate access to a data network by a user device for payments of very small monetary amounts in an access now and pay latter arrangement. The method for such a payment system for at least one access point or access point server relies on an identifier associated with a mobile device for recording such identifier; receiving and confirming direct debit orders from the associated mobile device for access to a data network; and for storing the direct debit orders. Such payment system method monitors the total of the debit amounts in relation to the identifier and requests a user of the mobile device to register and settle at least a portion of the total amount after a predetermined time interval and/or on exceeding a predetermined total debit amount, in order to settle at least part of such total debit amount. In accordance with such requests, the access points may provide the user device with limited access to the data network for registering and settling with the payment system. Such limited access may comprise at least one of limited access to at least one network address of the payment system, limited duration of access, and limited transmission rate.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to an electronic system, a computerized method, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for distributed payment of a transaction between a merchant and a group of customers. Each customer has an electronic device linked to a payment instrument of the customer, and the method is implemented on a first electronic device of a first customer in the group of customers. The method comprises steps of: receiving, from a server of the merchant, an electronic bill of the transaction, the electronic bill comprising details of a number of billable items; generating a first payment data token comprising details of the payment instrument of the first customer; broadcasting a communication signal for detecting other electronic devices of the group of customers proximate to the first electronic device; receiving, from the electronic devices of one or more other customers in the group of customers, other payment data tokens in response to detection of the electronic devices, the other payment data tokens comprising details of the payment instruments of the one or more other customers; distributing the billable items in the electronic bill among the first and other payment data tokens; generating a distributed electronic bill of the transaction comprising details of the payment instruments from the distributed payment data tokens and a cost payable by each payment instrument; and communicating the distributed electronic bill to the server for subsequent processing of payment from each payment instrument, such that the transaction is collectively payable by the payment instruments corresponding to the distributed payment data tokens.
Abstract:
An automated interconnection system for creating and utilizing smart policies on a blockchain is provided. An agent generates risk units that are associated with an asset and publishes the risk units to a blockchain. Insurance carriers create quotes covering the published risk units. An agreement is generated between a coverage seller and a policyholder as to a smart policy that covers the risk units. The coverage seller subdivides the risk units into secondary risk units and publishes the secondary risk units to the blockchain. An agreement is generated by the owner of the secondary risk units to a smart contract that covers the secondary risk units. Bids are generated by capital providers for coverage based on properties of the smart policy. Methods and computer readable media are also provided.
Abstract:
Some aspects of the present embodiments provide a method for transferring A/V recording and communication devices to other parties for installation at structures such as homes. The distributed and/or installed devices may be in a pre-activation mode with limited functionality. For example, a video doorbell device in pre-activation mode may have similar functionalities as a traditional doorbell, such as sounding a signaling device (e.g., a bell or buzzer), when a front button of the doorbell is pressed. The camera and/or the recording capabilities of the video doorbell, however, may be disabled in the pre-activation mode. The homeowner (or renter or other occupant) may subsequently desire to activate the A/V recording and communication device. During the activation process, the homeowner may be required to submit a payment for the A/V recording and communication device.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure enable electronic funds to be managed for a program that includes a plurality of parties including a participant and a sponsor. One or more metrics corresponding to a participation of the participant in the program are received. If the received metrics satisfy one or more predetermined thresholds, a quantity of the electronic funds is determined for distribution to the plurality of parties. A first instruction to transfer a first portion of the determined quantity of the electronic funds to a first financial account associated with the participant is generated, and a second instruction to transfer a second portion of the determined quantity of the electronic funds to a second financial account associated with the sponsor is generated. Aspects of the disclosure provide for a computing system for managing electronic funds for a program.
Abstract:
A transaction system for performing transactions with multiple balances within a single transaction. The transaction system comprises a payment device programmed to record multiple balances and a terminal programmed to interact with the payment device in order to complete a transaction by debiting multiple balances of the payment device within a single transaction. A method of transacting with a transaction device, a payment device and a method of providing commodities to a payment device user are also provided.
Abstract:
A management system is disclosed for use with a vehicle configured to receive waste from a receptacle, The management system may have at least one sensor mountable onboard the vehicle and configured to generate a receptacle-specific signal indicative of a condition of the receptacle. The management system may also have a controller in communication with the at least one sensor. The controller may be configured to receive information that is non-specific to the receptacle, to anticipate a service need of the receptacle based on the receptacle-specific signal and the information, and to selectively direct the vehicle to service the waste receptacle based on the service need.
