본 발명은 발신자가 착신자에게 전화를 걸 때에, 일방의 단말에 상대방 영상 콜러링 또는 광고주의 영상 광고 콘텐츠를 디스플레이하는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은, 앱 스토어 또는 관리서버로부터 내려받은 애플리케이션 프로그램이 단말에 설치되면, 설치된 애플리케이션 프로그램은 단말 사용자의 프로필 또는 이미지 정보를 등록받아 관리서버에 송출하고, 상기 관리서버가 전송하는 서비스 가입자의 콜러링 또는 광고주의 영상 광고 콘텐츠를 수신받아 단말의 저장 영역에 저장한다. 이어서, 발신자가 착신자에게 전화를 걸면, 발신단말과 착신단말에 설치된 애플리케이션 프로그램은 호접속 시도를 감지하고 프로그램 실행을 시작하고, 단말의 저장영역으로부터 또는 관리서버로부터 착신자 이미지 정보 또는 광고이미지 정보를 전달받아 발신단말에 디스플레이한다.

A method and system for delivering and displaying content on a mobile handheld device with voice telephony capability. Content is received from or on behalf of a content provider. For each individual one of a plurality of mobile handheld devices, content appropriate for each device is determined. The content determined to be appropriate for each mobile handheld device is delivered individually to that mobile handheld device. It is then determined whether the mobile handheld device is in an internal and/or external predetermined status, wherein the internal predetermined status is a function of the mobile handheld device unrelated to the content. If the mobile handheld device is in the internal and/or external predetermined status, the content is displayed as a foreground to a top-level user interface of the mobile handheld device.

This invention provides methods and apparatus for providing customised prior-to-answer and in-call media playback telephony services. The services allow for playback of customised media content to calling parties in the form of customised ringback tones, engaged tones, call holding, call transfer tones and other content such as pre-recorded announcements. The media content for playback is stored in equipment associated with subscribers and playback of the media content is originated from the subscriber equipment. The invention allows subscribers to give their telephony services a personal touch as they can choose different items of media content for playback to different calling parties. As the media content is stored on subscriber equipment local to subscribers, no additional network resources such as data storage and data processing facilities are required.

The system & method for usage of electronically stored, dynamically up-dated physical location parameters of cellular-phone or similar Mobile Device 20 to inform/alert/announce to its subscriber about the location-dependent variable timings of five-times-daily Islamic prayers called Salaat (Arabic) or Namaaz (Urdu). The alert/information can be through textual message or through formal vocal announcement called Azaan . The system allows the Azaantime-deciding-algorithm 85 to be stored on the Mobile Device 20 or on some remotelyconnected Web-server based Azaan Software Application 40, and the actual calculation may either be done dynamically just before the announcement, or the timings may be looked-up from pre-calculated location-specific look-up tables 80. The system further allows the location variables to be stored-on/retrieved-from the hand-held-mobile-device 20, itself or on some other remotely-connected computer called location-server 30. The format/accuracy of location parameters varies with the network-providers, but CELL-ID is the commonly used parameter by all cellular network technologies which rely on Cellular Base Station 25 for connectivity to the Mobile Device 20. However other location-describing formats like TA, EFLT, GPS, AGPS, TDOA, AOA, AFLT, EOTD, etc. may also be used to calculate and/or announce the Azaantimings. The system further allows transmittal of highly personalized notification to individual subscribers by storing personal preferences in a Subscribers Database 70 which is accessible to the Azaan-Software application 40 which employs the algorithm for dynamic notification 85, and thus personal preferences for different juristic methods, and selected modes of announcements can be accommodated.

A system and method for pushing information, such as calendar event messages, from a host system to a mobile data communication device upon sensing a triggering event is disclosed. A redirector program operating at the host system enables a user to continuously redirect calendar event messages, such as meeting reminders and notices, from the host system to the user's mobile data communication device upon detecting that one or more user-defined triggering events has occurred. The redirector program operates in connection with event generating applications and repackaging systems at the host system to configure and detect a particular user-defined event, and then to repackage the calendar event messages in an electronic wrapper prior to pushing the data items to the mobile device. An optimized data structure for storing the calendar event messages is also provided.
