Abstract:
When a motor is defective, e.g. stops running, runs too slow or overheats, many clients demand that an alarm signal be generated, that is, an alarm device included in the motor. In order to configure said alarm signal, the following method is used: at least one parameter for the configuration of the alarm device of the motor is inputted by means of an input interface (80, 82); the at least one parameter is stored in a parameter storage (74; 109); the execution of at least one routine of the alarm device provided in the microprocessor (23) is influenced by said stored parameter or by parameters derived therefrom. The invention also relates to a motor for implementing said method. Said motor makes it possible to easily configure the alarm device according to the actual requirements of a client.

During the analog period, a current is available which varies slowly as a linear function.

A control system may be used to determine how much current to deliver to, or extract from, each phase. The control system may use an objective function, subject to one or more constraints, to determine the current. The control system may use position information to determine the objective function, constraints, or both.

An electric motor controller having a front face and a rear face, the front face carrying a plurality of AC output couplings and the controller carrying a converter configured to convert a received DC supply into an output AC supply for controlling an electric motor, the AC output couplings being disposed symmetrically about an axis of symmetry of the controller on the front face of the controller. Also described is an apparatus comprising: a DC series motor; and a first current supply configured to supply a first current to an armature of the DC series motor; a second current supply configured to supply a second current to a field winding of the DC series motor; and a controller configured to control the first current supply to supply the first current based on a required torque output for the motor, and to control the second current supply to supply the second current based on the first current.
