Abstract:
A refrigeration load reduction system can include a primary container (100) having gas permeable openings therein. A granular composition is retained within the container. The granular composition is a granular mixture (106) of a sodium carbonate mineral (107) and a mono-, di- or tricarboxylic acid (108). Typically, the sodium carbonate mineral (107) is a trona mineral, although other minerals can be used singly or in combination with trona. A method of reducing refrigeration load can include orienting the refrigeration load reduction system within a fluid circulation path of a refrigeration unit adapted to cool a refrigeration chamber.
Abstract:
An apparatus for cooling objects such as food items, beverages or vaccines comprises at least two reservoirs, a cooling device for cooling fluid contained in one of the reservoirs and a thermal transfer region between respective upper regions of the reservoirs. The thermal transfer region permits thermal transfer between the fluid contained in the reservoirs such that cooling of the fluid in one reservoir causes cooling of the fluid in the other reservoir.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A reusable container for storing or transporting a product to be refrigerated or frozen such as a food product is provided, comprising an inner wall, an outer wall, and a wall space provided between the inner wall and the outer wall. The wall space is substantially separated from the environment outside of the reusable container and a slurry is provided in the wall space. In some embodiments, the container can be generally rectangular or generally cylindrical. A method of shipping a product to be refrigerated or frozen in a reusable container and a method of producing a reusable container are also provided.
Abstract:
A rigid-walled, block-shaped box is internally provided with a compartment (42) arranged adjacent to a vertical wall of the box and having a first chamber (68) with a first window (58) open to the inside of the container and a second window (62) open to the outside, and a second chamber (70) with a third window (60) open to the inside of the container and a fourth window (64) open to the outside. The windows are each provided with a shutter. A mass of phase change material is housed within the compartment between said first chamber (68) and second chamber (70), for absorbing heat from the air flowing from one chamber to the other chamber when said first window (58) and third window (60) are open and said second window (62) and fourth window (64) are closed, and releasing heat to the air flowing from one chamber to the other chamber when said first window (58) and third window (60) are closed and said second window (62) and fourth window (64) are open.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an appliance (1; 101; 201) for cooling a liquid fit for human consumption, comprising a container (4; 104; 204). At least one motor member (6; 106; 206) located inside the container engages with at least one removable cooling body (10; 110; 210) to guide and pump the liquid fit for human consumption around a closed circuit. The cooling body is designed to optimize the cooling effect by increasing the surface area of the liquid fit for human consumption in contact with the cooling body. To this end it has channels (11, 12; 112) through which the liquid fit for human consumption passes in such a way as to promote heat exchange and so reduce the length of time required to cool the liquid fit for human consumption to a predetermined temperature.
Abstract:
A storage device (2) is provided for inter alia drink containers (22). The device (2) includes a reservoir for a temperature conditioning material (14, 16) and multiple holders (10) arranged in the reservoir.
