Abstract:
A system for locating a stored item comprises a transmitter, a radio frequency identification tag (560) attached to a stored item and a search bar (500). The search bar in turn comprises an antenna for receiving a signal from at least one of the transmitter and the radio frequency identification tag (560), a wiring harness (540) connected to the antenna, and a plurality of visual indicators connected to the wiring harness. A unique pattern is stored on the radio frequency identification tag (560). During the transmission of a signal by the transmitter containing a pattern matching the unique pattern stored on the radio frequency identification tag (560), the wiring harness of the search bar (500) illuminates one or more visual indicators (530) in the proximity of the radio frequency identification tag (560).
Abstract:
The present invention provides apparatus and an associated method for remotely energizing power storage devices. Energization may preferably be effected through the use of RF energy from a base station, ambient energy or ultra-wide band energy. The remote station preferably has at least one antenna having an effective area greater than its physical area. The system may have an antenna and associated circuitry provided on an electronic chip such as a monolithic chip or on a printed circuit with a suitable substrate.
Abstract:
A method of scaling polyphony can include identifying music data to be played (415), wherein the music data indicates instruments to be used and each instrument has an assigned priority. A measure of polyphony needed to play the music data can be compared with polyphony of a sound generating device (425). If the measure of polyphony exceeds the polyphony of the sound generating device, the music data can be played without using one or more instruments indicated by the music data according to the assigned priorities (440, 460).
Abstract:
A video system automatically monitors and controls of the ingress and egress of vehicles to and from a secure facility and various areas within the facility. A plurality of cameras (C1-C14), such as infrared-sensitive cameras, captures images of the license plates of vehicles traveling into and within the site. The video proceesing system (16) detects and extracts a license plate number (LPN). Based on the location of the camera and the (LPN) the processor (16) store the LPN with a time-stamp in one or more databases including an "intransit" database (19), an employee database (30), a blacklist database (36), a loiterer database (38), a speeder database (40), a high security database (42), a high security parking database (44), a normal parking database (50a and 50b) and a visitor parking lot database (48).
Abstract:
A biometrically authenticated portable access device, includes a biometric sensor for measuring a live biometric parameter of an unverified user, an authenticator controfling a switch that enables and disables a conventional RFID tag and a stored biometric template corresponding to a previously measured biometric parameter of an authorized user. The authenticator compares the live biometric parameter of the unverified user to the stored biometric template and enables the RFID tag when the live biometric parameter matches the stored biometric template. The RFID tag is programmable in conventional RFID tag programmers that may be proprietary permitting the portable access device to be used with existing installed systems of proprietary and non-proprietary RFID tag programmers and readers.
Abstract:
A keyless entry system for a vehicle includes a side-view mirror assembly and an input device integrated into the side-view mirror assembly. The input device includes an input interface that is operable to input a code. A controller receives the code and generates an action signal based on the code to initiate operation of a device of the vehicle.
Abstract:
Music and non-music portions in an audio stream are identified. The audio stream is digitized and segmented into frames. Selected frames are passed through a filter bank which includes filters having bandwidths approximately proportional to their center frequencies. The spectral flux for each selected frame is calculated and smoothed. Frames having a smoothed spectral flux below a threshold value are associated with music, and frames having a smoothed spectral flux above a threshold value are associated with non-music.
Abstract:
An identification tag holder (100) includes an identification tag shell (101) containing a transmitter (122). An identification card (110) is placed into the identification tag shell (101). An identification tag interface (126) reads identification data from the identification card (110) which is transmitted by the transmitter (122). A remote identification tag identification system (151) includes one or more remote identification tag components each having an identification tag reader and a transmitter. An identification tag (110) is inserted into the identification tag component, such that identification data may be read from the identification tag (110) by the identification tag reader (107). A location receiver (156) receives identification data transmitted by the transmitter (122). A location processor (158) processes said received identification data.
Abstract:
A tracking system for use in identifying individuals of a group, each of the individuals having an associated data set indicative of the identity of those individuals, includes an electromagnetic identification apparatus configured with each of the individuals for providing an electromagnetic identification signal indicative of the content data set of that apparatus; a writer for use in encoding the electromagnetic identification signals with signals indicative of the individual onto the electromagnetic identification apparatus; a controller for receiving the encoded signals and for storing the encoded signals in a master database storage apparatus; and a reader remotely positioned from the controller and configured for communicating with the electromagnetic identification apparatus and receiving the encoded signals therefrom corresponding to the content data signal set, the reader also for providing the controller with signals indicative of the same.
Abstract:
