Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for setting up, in one embodiment, a generic streaming media device as a set-top box for a multichannel content provider that provides a content delivery service. The set up process can be performed automatically and as background operations while a user manually sets up the device, in foreground operations, for use with an online streaming media store or source of content. The set up process can use a device token that was previously associated with the multichannel content provider for use with the device during the set up process. The device token can be stored by the developer of the device and sent by the developer to the multichannel content provider during a set up process of the device; the device token can be opaque to the developer but provides information used by the multichannel content provider to set up the device as a set top box.
Abstract:
A secure ranging system can use a secure processing system to deliver one or more ranging keys to a ranging radio on a device, and the ranging radio can derive locally at the system ranging codes based on the ranging keys. A deterministic random number generator can derive the ranging codes using the ranging key and one or more session parameters, and each device (e.g. a cellular telephone and another device) can independently derive the ranging codes and derive them contemporaneously with their use in ranging operations.
Abstract:
Method of forming ultra thin coreless substrates are described. In an embodiment, the method utilizes a debond layer including high and low adhesion surface areas to the carrier substrate, and cutting through the low adhesion surface areas to remove a build-up structure from the carrier substrate. An electrical short layer may be formed as a part of or on the debond layer to facilitate electrical testing of the build-up structure prior to debonding, and aid in the formation a "known good" substrate on a support substrate.

Light emitting diodes re described. In an embodiment, an LED includes a graded p-side spacer layer on a p-type confinement layer, and the graded p-side spacer layer graded from an initial band gap adjacent the p-type confinement layer to a lower band gap. For example, the graded band gap may be achieved by a graded Aluminum concentration.
Abstract:
A system for producing an encoded digital audio recording has an audio encoder that encodes a digital audio recording having a number of audio channels or audio objects. An equalization (EQ) value generator produces a sequence of EQ values which define EQ filtering that is to be applied when decoding the encoded digital audio recording, wherein the EQ filtering is to be applied to a group of one or more of the audio channels or audio objects of the recording independent of any downmix. A bitstream multiplexer combines the encoded digital audio recording with the sequence of EQ values, the latter as metadata associated with the encoded digital audio recording. Also described is a system for decoding the encoded audio recording.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for improving search results returned to a user from one or more search domains, utilizing query features learned locally on the user's device. A search engine can receive, analyze and forward query results from multiple search domains and pass the query results to a client device. A search engine can determine a feature by analyzing query results, generate a predictor for the feature, instruct a client device to use the predictor to train on the feature, and report back to the search engine on training progress. A search engine can instruct a first and second set of client devices to train on set A and B of predictors, respectively, and report back training progress to the search engine. A client device can store search session context and share the context with a search engine between sessions with one or more search engines. A synchronization system can synchronize local predictors between multiple client devices of a user.

The fourth lens component may have concave object-side and convex image-side refractive surfaces. The sixth lens component may have concave object-side and image-side refractive surfaces. The refracting surfaces may be aspheric. The optical imaging lens assembly may have a total track length of less than 6 millimeters and be part of a digital camera integrated into a portable wireless communications device.

In an embodiment an electrostatic cleaning device includes a cleaning electrode area including a first electrode pattern, a first trace line connected to the first electrode pattern, and a dielectric layer covering the cleaning electrode and the first trace line. In an embodiment, a mass transfer tool includes a translatable transfer head assembly that is translatable over a carrier substrate stage, a receiving substrate stage, and an electrostatic cleaning stage.

Personal listening device (PLD) includes earphone housing having therein (a) inertial sensor to detect motion of PLD and to generate motion signal, (b) pressure sensor to detect compression of portion of PLD and to generate pressure sensor signal, and (c) speaker to receive anti-noise signal and desired audio signal from electronic device, and active noise control (ANC) system to generate anti-noise signal as being one of first or second anti-noise signal. ANC system includes processor, vibration detector to detect vibration of the PLD based on at least one of motion signal or pressure sensor signal, and ANC anti-noise generator to generate first anti-noise signal when vibrations are not detected by vibration detector, and to generate second anti-noise signal when vibrations are detected by vibration detector. Second anti-noise signal is based on detected vibrations. Processor reconfigures ANC system for ANC anti-noise generator to generate second anti-noise signal. Other embodiments are described.
