Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to sugar-linker-drug conjugates, of the formula [A-B-]n-L-D, wherein A is a saccharide; B is a spacer, n is an integer selected from 1 to 3; L is a linker group and D is a drug having a chemically reactive functional group selected from the group consisting of a primary or secondary amine, hydroxyl, sulfhydryl, carboxyl, aldehyde and ketone. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the conjugates and methods of using thern are also provided.
Abstract:
A single vector or multiple separate vectors that contain two or more non-competing replicons for transient expression of the heavy and light chains of Rituximab in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves is described. The correct assembly of these subunit proteins into functional oligomeric structures to optimize the expression is also described. This system advances plant transient expression technology by eliminating the need for non-competing viruses, and thus, enhances the realistic commercial application of the multi-replicon single vector system for producing Rituximab in plant cells.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and media for updating a classifier are provided, in some embodiments, systems for updating a classifier are provided, the systems comprising: a hardware processor that is configured to: receive a sample; for each of a first plurality of weak learners, classify the sample using the weak learner, determine an outcome of the classification, and determine an updated error rate of the weak learner based on the outcome of the classification and at least one of: (i) a count of positive samples used to update the classifier, and (ii) a count of negative samples used to update the classifier; select a first weak learner from the first plurality of weak learners based on the updated error rate of the first weak learner; and update tire classifier based on the first weak learner.
Abstract:
Provided in one embodiment is an electrochemical cell, comprising: (i) a plurality of electrodes, comprising a fuel electrode that comprises aluminum and an air electrode that absorbs gaseous oxygen, the electrodes being operable in a discharge mode wherein the aluminum is oxidized at the fuel electrode and oxygen is reduced at the air electrode, and (ii) an ionically conductive medium, comprising an organic solvent; wherein during non-use of the cell, the organic solvent promotes formation of a protective interface between the aluminum of the fuel electrode and the ionically conductive medium, and wherein at an onset of the discharge mode, at least some of the protective interface is removed from the aluminum to thereafter permit oxidation of the aluminum during the discharge mode.
Abstract:
A system for providing neurostimulation includes an external device ("external exciter") and an implanted device. The external exciter includes an energy source which inductively powers the implanted device. Examples of such external exciters include devices having at least one of: ultrasonic transducers, Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters, and solar cells. The implanted device includes circuitry that limits its maximum energy output to a predetermined saturation threshold such that excess stimulation from the external exciter does not raise the output of the implanted device beyond the saturation threshold. The output signal of the external exciter is then pulse-width modulated in order to produce a desired amount of output stimulation from the implanted device to stimulate the bioelectrically excitable tissue at a desired level.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and media for policy-based monitoring and controlling of applications are provided. Methods for policy-based monitoring and controlling of applications are provided, the methods comprising: providing a policy engine that: receives system policies and user policies; determines whether any violations and/or conflicts exist between the system policies and the user policies; and determines whether the system policies and/or user policies are violated during an installation, launch, and/or execution of an application; and providing a user interface to alert a user of violations during the installation, launch, and/or execution of the application.
