Abstract:
A symmetric clamp structure having a first arm and a second arm. Both the first arm and the second arm having coaxial threaded bores through the distal ends of each arm. The symmetric clamp structure also includes a screw having a shank, the shank having a head at one end and being threaded at a second opposite end. The threaded portion of the shank is sized and has a pitch appropriate for threadably engaging the screw with the threaded bores through the distal end of both the first and second arm of the clamp structure. The shank of the screw also has a clearance portion between the threaded portion and the head. The screw is threadably engaged with one of the first or second threaded bores such that the head abuts the arm opposite the threaded engagement. The clearance portion has an outer diameter sized to clear the tips of the threads of the threaded bores and a length at least equal to the axial length of each threaded bore. Preferably the axial length of the clearance portion exceeds the axial length of each threaded bore.
Abstract:
A grip for a cycle includes a cylindrical liner extending along a liner axis between a first and a second end. The cylindrical liner has at least two elongate slots extending axially along a lengthwise portion of the cylindrical liner, each elongate slot overlapping a lengthwise part of another elongate slot, the overlapping elongate slots being radially offset. An over molding overlies a lengthwise of the cylindrical liner. The elongate slots are preferably disposed in a first set of at least two elongate slots extending along a first axial line in the liner and a second set of at least two elongate slots extending along a second axial line in the liner. The first and second axial lines are radially offset and the first set of elongate slots overlaps the second set of elongate slots. A first elongate slot may intercept a first end of the cylindrical liner. A compression member is provided in operative association with a circumference of an axial segment of the cylindrical liner. The axial segment includes at least a lengthwise portion of the first elongate slot. The compression member is operable between a relaxed state not compressing the axial segment and a compression segment compressing the axial segment about its circumference. The axial segment is preferably proximate the first end of the cylindrical liner.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system for reconnaissance using autonomous unmanned airborne vehicles (UAV). The system comprises a mothership, which is generally a fixed wing fuel tank capable of providing a suitable surface for flight (lift) and one or more elements for attachment of individual UAVs. The system further comprises one or more UAVs that are detachably connected to the mothership, and which are independently controllable for reconnaissance and tracking. The system and its individual parts are reusable and independently controllable, permitting low cost reconnaissance over wide areas of geography.
