The invention concerns a process for enriching an iron mineral from a silicate containing iron ore by inverse flotation comprising the addition of a collector or collector composition comprising at least one of the compounds of formulae RC(0)N(Z-0-X-NH 2 ) 2 (la); RC(0)N(Z-0-X-NH 2 ) 2 H + Y - (lb); in which X is an aliphatic alkylene group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms; Z is an aliphatic alkylene group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms; Y - is an anion; and R is a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, aliphatic or aromatic moiety having between 7 and 23 carbon atoms. The invention also relates to the novel compounds according to formulae (la) and (lb), compositions comprising said compounds and the use of compounds and formulations as collectors for enriching of iron mineral.

Disclosed is a continuous method for treating the surface of metal strips. In said method, a surface property-modifying layer having a maximum thickness of 3 µm is applied by means of a device comprising at least one Fourier transform IR spectrometer which faces a coated side of the strip, operates using reflection geometry, and records IR spectroscopic measurement data of the applied surface property-modifying layer while the metal strip advances in order to characterize the surface.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Aufbringen von atmosphärischen Korrosionsschutzschichten auf metallische Oberflächen, bei dem man Copolymere einsetzt, welche als monomere Bausteine Nitrilgruppen aufweisende Monomere, saure Gruppen aufweisende Monomere sowie vinylaromatische Monomere aufweisen. Sie betrifft weiterhin Zubereitungen zum Aufbringen von Korrosionsschutzschichten.

The compounds are particularly suitable as flotation collectors for enriching an iron mineral from a silicate-containing iron ore.

The invention relates to a process for preparing a polymer by free-radical polymerization of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and/or a salt thereof,at least one ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and/or an anhydride and/or a salt thereof,in the presence of hypophosphorous acid and/or a salt thereof. The invention also relates to a polymer composition obtainable by this process. The invention also relates to the use of such a polymer composition as detergent additive, e.g. as dispersant, scale inhibitor or sequestrant for laundry detergents.

Kontinuierliches Verfahren zur Oberflächenbehandlung von Metallbändern, bei dem man eine Vergütungsschicht mit einer Dicke von nicht mehr als 3 µm aufbringt, wobei die zum Aufbringen eingesetzte Vorrichtung mit mindestens einem, einer beschichteten Seite des Bandes zugewandten, in Reflexionsgeometrie arbeitenden Fourier-Transform-IR-Spektrometer ausgestattet ist, mit dem von der aufgebrachten Vergütungsschicht bei laufendem Metallband IR-spektroskopische Messdaten zur Charakterisierung der Oberfläche aufgenommen werden.
