摘要: The present invention relates to the field of diagnostic or analytic methods. In particular, the inventors teach that an Fc receptor for IgM heavy chains (FcμR), in particular, Faim 3/Toso or CD351, or a functional fragment thereof, which preferably comprises the Ig-like domain of Faim 3/Toso, may be used for in vitro quantification of IgM or IgA antibodies, preferably, IgM, in the form of immune complexes, i.e., complexes formed by antigen and specific antibody. These immune complexes may be formed by mixing an antigen with a sample comprising antibodies. A method for detection and quantification of IgA or IgM antibodies in the form of immune complexes is also provided. This can be useful for diagnosis of infections, e.g., with a virus.

摘要: The invention relates to a new method for diagnosing whether a subject is afflicted with a severe or uncomplicated form of malaria. The method is based on the determination of the concentration of the serine protease granzyme B in a body fluid sample of a subject. The concentration of granzyme B is indicative for either the severe form or the uncomplicated form of malaria. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a new method for diagnosing whether a subject is afflicted either with a severe form of malaria or with an uncomplicated form of malaria which is combined with a bacterial sepsis. The invention also relates to a diagnostic kit for carrying out the diagnostic method of the invention.

摘要: The present invention relates to novel immunostimulatory molecules which are derived from the intestinal protozoan Entamoeba histolytica .The compounds have been found to be useful for enhancing and/or inducing an immune response in a subject in need thereof. Specifically, the compounds have been found to be useful for the treatment of cancer diseases, such as breast cancer, and parasitic diseases, such as leishmaniasis. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising the novel compounds.
