Abstract:
Overhead pushed airflow for a cooling system of a work vehicle. In one embodiment, a cooling includes an interior defined by upstream faces of heat exchangers. An air mover pushes ambient air downward through said cooling box from overhead of the work and across the heat exchangers.
Abstract:
A header assembly supported on the front of a windrower operable to process crop material standing in a field. The header assembly includes a header configured to process crop material and lean bar as the leading element for contacting crop material and preparing the crop material for processing by the header. The lean bar is positioned so that the lean bar is the forward-most element of the header assembly. The header assembly has a plurality of cutting elements arranged in a line transverse the header. A cutter bar shield door is positioned to an elevated position such that a forward most point of the cutter bar shield door is above a rearward most point thereof. The forward most point of the cutter bar shield door lies on or behind a line drawn between the forward edge of the lean bar and a rotational center of the cutting elements.
Abstract:
A modular rotary cutter bed (10) is formed by a series of essentially identical cutter modules (28) mounted end-to-end along the length of a common support beam (12). Guards (94) for the cutters of the modules are arranged such that each guard overlaps and bridges the seam (44) between an adjacent pair of modules (28) so as to increase the structural rigidity of the cutter bed. Each guard (94) is attached at its front end to the noses (54) of a pair of adjacent modules and at its rear end to the support beam to increase structural integrity in all directions. A second embodiment does not utilize a common support beam for the modules (228) but instead relies upon the interconnections between adjacent modules and bridging overlap of the guards (294) to rigidify the cutter bed.
Abstract:
A reflectance meter for use in a blood glucose tester for measuring the colour change of test strips, treated with blood to be tested. The reflectance meter comprises a strip gate (7) for receiving and holding a treated strip in position. Light from a lamp source (8) is reflected from the strip and sensed by a light sensitive device (9), the output of which is connected to an electronic measuring circuit (55) which determines blood glucose level from the intensity of reflected light. The measured level is displayed by an analogue (14), digital (43), mechanical or thermal display. The strip gates can be coded (48) in accordance with the particular strip variety used.

Abstract:
A harvesting machine includes a harvesting header (40) with a header frame (42), a cutterbar assembly (48) attached to the header frame along the length thereof and configured to cut a crop, and a draper assembly (50) positioned behind the cutterbar assembly and operable to receive severed crop material from the cutterbar assembly. The draper assembly includes a center fore-and-aft draper (54) that delivers crop material rearwardly to a feeder house of the harvesting machine and oppositely spaced side drapers (52) that deliver crop material laterally to the center draper. The fore-and-aft includes a draper frame (244,252,256) and a draper belt (250) supported on the draper frame to present an upper rearwardly moving run for conveying the crop rearwardly. A crop material deflector (284) is attached relative to the draper frame in front of the draper belt (250). The deflector (284) extends in the fore-and-aft direction from in front of the draper belt (250) to a location over the draper belt, with the deflector operable to restrict severed crop delivered from each of the side drapers (52) from flowing to the other side drapers.
Abstract:
A harvesting header (10) having a flexible cutterbar assembly (38) utilizes draper belts (52, 54) behind the cutterbar (38) to gently consolidate the severed crop materials and deliver them to a point of discharge and delivery, such as to the feederhouse of a combine harvester. One embodiment has draper assemblies and a central conveyor (72) fixed relative to the flexible cutterbar assembly (38), while another has the draper assemblies and central conveyor flexible with the cutterbar assembly (38).

Abstract:
Minute charges of the material are carried by high pressure jets of liquid, such as water, down into the ground from a series of side-by-side nozzles (158) that simultaneously fire the jets toward the ground at regular intervals as the nozzles (158) advance along a path of travel. During the short pauses between successive blasts from the nozzles (158), material is continuously fed into a collecting chamber (240) for each nozzle (158) to form a small charge (242). As the water blast takes place, the charge (242) is automatically drawn into the venturi and carried out of the machine by the high pressure jet. An onboard computer controls firing of the nozzles in relation to speed, distance and desired application rate, as well as other variables, and an optional embodiment provides a similar degree of control and precision for liquid additive materials.
