摘要: The ring seal and retainer assembly includes an annularly shaped ring seal defining a radial inner surface, a radial outer surface, first and second axial end surfaces and a central bore for fluid or gas passage. A retainer is provided for affixing and positioning a ring seal in a sealing assembly. The retainer includes a circular sidewall sized and positioned to engage and cover the ring seal's radial outer surface. The retainer includes an arcuate flange which extends at one of the retainer's axial extremities to form a concave interior and a convex exterior. Preferably, the arcuate flange extends outwardly to increase the retainer's radius and the arcuate flange is sized to compressibly engage the interior sidewall of the component block's counterbore.

摘要: A method and system for treating wastewater is disclosed. In one embodiment the method includes introducing the wastewater into an aerated anoxic treatment unit, flowing an oxygen containing gas into the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit at a first flow rate, measuring a concentration of a nitrogen species in the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit, comparing the measured concentration of the nitrogen species to a target nitrogen species concentration, adjusting the flow of the oxygen containing gas into the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit to a second flow rate in response to a difference in the nitrogen species and the target nitrogen species concentrations, and maintaining the second flow rate for a time period sufficient for the wastewater to be treated in the aerated anoxic treatment unit and form an anoxically treated liquid having a reduced concentration of the nitrogen species.

摘要: A key pulley segment in a synchronized, segmentally interchanging pulley transmission system is either first or last in a pulley segment set to engage an endless member. The first or last key segment teeth to engage or disengage, respectively, are shortened or completely trimmed, and the adjacent pulley segment to the key segment is elongated such that the inward portion of the tooth profile extends toward the key segment. Shortened tooth or teeth and an elongated adjacent segment together allow for many pulley segments to be designed as key segments. Completely trimmed teeth may be engineered to create a supporting surface for the endless member on the key segment. The elongated adjacent segment may have an extending portion which slidably mates with the supporting surface of the key segment, thereby receiving radial support therefrom. Multiple pulley segments from different pulley segment sets may be connected or constructed to move together in a unified stack, and may be staggered such that any one segment may be in an engaging position with the endless member when the unified stack is moved along the axis of rotation. Unified stacks may have guiding rails on both inner and outer radial surfaces, and the pulley assembly may have mating features that receive such guiding rails. Any number of the pulley segments in a unified stack may be key pulley segments. Pulley segments of a stack may be vertically separated into one or more unified stacks. Unified stacks may be moved by way of a cam or roller cam system, where each unified stack has a slidably or ratably attached roller and roller-arm. Chassis-mounted cams engage the rollers outside of the contact zone, rollers and roller-arms are moved into and out of engagement with the cams, and individual segments of a unified stack are moved into or out of engagement. Rollers may be actuated into and out of engagement by electromagnets, fixably mounted in an array. Rollers may discretely engage with multiple cams, by way of several electromagnet-arrays, and thereby complete several stack axial motions. Electromagnets in an array may be selectively energized to move selected rollers to an active position in order to effect key pulley segment engagement, stack axial movement and transition.

摘要: The invention hardware system for performing a plurality of calculations on at least one object in an area, said system comprising means for performing ray tracing to determine rays of light that intersect with at least one object to calculate one or more intersections; and means for performing collision detection comprising a collision detection unit adapted to receive inputs from the at least two intersections and the ray used to intersect to check for potential collisions between the objects. The invention allows for full ray tracing, including shading, and collision detection for triangle meshes, both rigid and deformable, to be performed using the same hardware device. The invention provides a single hardware architecture that is suitable for performing both operations, that allows hardware acceleration for both algorithms, while preserving resources by sharing the same logic between both algorithms.

摘要: There is provided a body wash composition that includes sun screen materials. The body wash composition is formulated so that it may be applied during normal hygiene activities, such as washing. However, the composition applies an effective of sun screen material to the body such that the sun screen continues to provide effective solar protection even after rinsing or washing of the human body. Further, the material is a non greasy, easy to apply material that may be used during showering activities in a manner similar to a bar soap or cleanser. The composition includes a variety of materials that assist in the processing and storage of the body wash. Effective amounts of solar protective material include octyl methoxycinamate, octyl salycilate, and titanium dioxide. Testing shows that the product provides a solar protective level of at least approximately 14 even after multiple rinsings.
