Abstract:
A moulded sealing, trimming or guiding member, in particular a sealing corner (3), having a two part coating with a part A of fluoroelastomer containing cross linkable sites dissolved in an organic solvent and a part B based on organosilane comprising hydrolysable groups and a monoprimary amine. Such a sealing corner (3) is intended to serve as part of a sealing system for, for example a window of a vehicle when located between a first extruded sealing member (6) at a header and a second extruded sealing member (7) at a pillar. The coating is applicable without a primer and has excellent abrasion resistance properties. A method of making such a moulded sealing, trimming or guiding member and a method of coating such a moulded sealing, trimming or guiding member with Lord HPC-5B coating.
Abstract:
A merchandiser and method for displaying and warming previously baked dough products, such as cookies, under controlled drying conditions, including an enclosure having one or more wall members that define an interior space, with at least a portion of one of the wall members being transparent, an aperture for access into the interior space, at least one support surface for supporting one or more previously baked dough products that contain a predetermined average moisture level therein, and at least one mounting structure associated with the enclosure for mounting and positioning each support surface at a user accessible location in the interior space of the enclosure, and a heat source for providing heated air in the enclosure wherein the support surface contacts at least a portion of the previously baked products so that those portions are shielded from direct contact with the heated air such that the drying of moisture in the baked products is controlled to maintain the organoleptic and/or texture properties of the products at essentially the same level as those of freshly baked products for a period of at least about 2 hours.
Abstract:
An intervertebral spacer or implant (10) is disclosed which has a rapidly tapering presenting portion (12) and two opposed lateral surfaces (14 and 16). The presenting portion (12) can include a semicircular region having a radius (R1) when viewed from an elevation orientation, and comprises a second semicircular region having a radius (R2) when viewed from a plan orientation. The opposed lateral surfaces (14 and 16) each include posterior end (14A and 16A), respectively, and anterior end (14B and 16B), respectively. The opposed lateral surfaces (14 and 16) taper away from each other at an angle theta, preferably in the range of 5 degrees to 8 degrees.
Abstract:
As a lubricant for cold-working of metal there is provided on the surface of the metal to be subjected to working a solid film of a saturated aliphatic monohydric alcohol having 14 to 18 carbon atoms. After the metal has been worked, the solid lubricant may be removed by heating without causing staining of the metal surface. The solid lubricant film may additionally contain from 1 to 10 % by weight of a polybutene, petroleum jelly or butyl stearate to modify the properties of the lubricant film.
Abstract:
This invention relates to traps for flying insects, and in particular, relates to a self-supporting and re-usable trap for wasps, yellowjackets and flies. A trap for insects comprising a bag having a first generally flat collapsed configuration for storage and a second expanded configuration for operation thereby forming an internal chamber for trapping insects. The bag includes a first side wall and a second opposite the side wall and at least one entry portal for insects, said first circular entry portal penetrating said first side wall and communicating with the chamber. The trap can include a suitable attractant for attracting insects to the entry portal.
Abstract:
An apperance feature for a weatherstrip or seal (26) bonded directly to a glass window or light (22) includes a seal assembly comprising molded material (32) and polyurethane (34) bonded directly to the glass and an applique (40) which is secured to the polyurethane material before it cures. The applique may be of any material having suitable shape, colour, appearance and weatherability. The applique includes a first, appearance surface (42) and a second, attachment surface which includes projecting pins, chevrons, loops, stirrups and the like which are mechanically held in the polyurethane when it has cured.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a catheter which enables the venting or decompression of gases therethrough and, more particularly, to enteral tubes or catheters. The catheter may be configured to allow continuous venting with reduced concern about liquid leakage or the need for the user to limit their activities or assume certain positions during venting.
Abstract:
A flexible fluid filled actuator (10) has an elastic bladder (17) and a guide (117) surrounding the bladder. The guide has asymmetrical elastic properties. When the bladder is inflated the guide directs the bladder to expand preferentially in a selected direction or directions. The actuator has utility in the traction and/or unloading of portions of the body. A fluid-filled traction apparatus is disclosed which has particular advantages in spinal unloading.
Abstract:
A method of conducting a seismic survey comprising using at least one seismic source operable to emit an acoustic signal comprises: - providing a first receiver line extending in a first direction across a region of the ground to be surveyed; - locating at least one seismic receiver at a point on the first receiver line, the seismic i receiver(s) being adapted to record reflected acoustic signals emitted by the seismic source(s); - providing a first pre-determined shot line having a plurality of shot points along its length, extending in a second direction and along which the seismic source(s) is movable; - operating the or one of the seismic source(s) to emit an acoustic signal at a first shot point on the pre-determined shot line, the reflection of the acoustic signal being recorded by the or one of the seismic receiver(s); and - operating the or one of the seismic source(s) to emit another acoustic signal at a second shot point on the pre-determined shot line, the reflection of the another acoustic signal being recorded by the or one of the seismic receiver(s); characterised in that at least one of the first receiver line and the first pre-determined shot line passes through or at least partially along a generally horizontal borehole extending through the region of the ground to be surveyed and the first pre-determined shot line transects the first receiver line.
Abstract:
