Abstract:
A system and method for endoscopically forming an anastomosis between two naturally adjacent points in the digestive tract. The system and method utilizes elongate magnetic devices that, when connected across a tissue boundary, necrose tissue until an anastomosis forms and the devices are passed naturally. Despite the elongate shape of the devices, the resulting anastomosis is substantially round. As such, round anastomoses can be formed having increased diameters merely by increasing the lengths of the devices, obviating the need for wider endoscopes.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the disclosure is a catheter system configured to be attached to an implanted medical device, such as an implanted valve. The catheter includes an engagement assembly having an elongated member that extends along a central axis, and an engagement member coupled to the elongated member. The engagement assembly has a retracted configuration, where the engagement member is disposed within the channel of the catheter, and an engagement configuration, where the engagement member is disposed outside of the channel and extends outwardly along a direction that is angled with respect to the central axis.
Abstract:
A device for temporarily sealing an opening in a blood vessel is provided. The device comprises a cutting mechanism for creating an opening in a blood vessel and a seal for sealing the opening in the blood vessel. The seal is delivered through an inner lumen of a tool body coupled to the cutting mechanism. Methods for using the device to construct an anastomosis between two vessels are also provided.
Abstract:
A replacement heart valve assembly where the valve is loaded into the catheter distally, and separately from the stent. The valve has a locking member and the stent has a locking channel. Once in the expanded position, the valve is pulled towards the stent until the locking member is engaged with the locking channel.
Abstract:
A device for sealing a patent foramen ovale (PFO) in the heart is provided. The device includes a left atrial anchor adapted to be placed in a left atrium of the heart, a right atria) anchor adapted to be placed in a right atrium of the heart, and an elongate member adapted to extend through the passageway and connect the left and right atrial anchors. A system for delivering the closure device includes side-by-side tubes. A device for retrieving a mis-deployed closure device includes a shaft portion and an expandable retrieval portion.
Abstract:
A device (100) for temporarily sealing an opening in a blood vessel is provided. The device comprises a cutting mechanism (140) for creating an opening in a blood vessel and a seal (8110,114) for sealing the opening in the blood vessel. The seal is delivered through an inner lumen of a tool body (135) coupled to the cutting mechanism.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is a catheter assembly and related method that allows laceration of either a surgical valve or transcatheter valve leaflet to facilitate flow to the coronary arteries during valve in valve interventions.
Abstract:
The invention provides a system and method for harvesting a vessel section. The system comprises a vessel support member, a handle, and a tubular cutting device. The vessel support member is introduced into the vessel section to be harvested. The tubular cutting device may comprise an outer tubular member or an outer and an inner tubular member. The outer tubular member carries at least one cutting element. The tubular member or members are advanced over the vessel section and vessel support member to core out the vessel section and tissue adjoining the vessel section.

Abstract:
In some embodiments, a method includes a shaft (320) having a side catheter guide (330) attached thereto via a guide coupler (340) into an inferior vena cava and a superior vena cava such that the guide coupler (340) is disposed in a right atrium, and applying a distal force to a proximal portion of the side catheter guide (330) such that a distal end of the side catheter guide (330) deflects laterally about the guide coupler (340) towards a septum. The method further includes extending a side catheter (360) that is disposed within the side catheter guide (330) distally from the side catheter guide (330) towards and into contact with the septum. The method further includes, with the side catheter (360) in contact with the septum, extending a septum penetrator (370) that is slidably disposed within the side catheter (360) distally from the side catheter (360) such that the septum penetrator (370) pierces the septum.
