Abstract:
Exemplary systems for small volume collection for a breastpump system are provided. The systems allow breast milk to flow directly from the breastshield to the collection container without leaving the control volume. A valve is present outside of the milk flow path that does not contact breast milk prior to the milk reaching a collection vessel.
Abstract:
A coupler clamp (50) for detachably attaching at least one horizontal (52) tube of a cup-lock scaffold system (56) to any elevation of a vertical tube (54)of the cup-lock scaffold system (56). The clamp (50) includes a first jaw (58) and a second jaw (60). The first jaw (58) is hinged to the second jaw (60) for allowing the coupler clamp (50)to wrap around the vertical tube (54) of the cup-lock scaffold system (56) and capture an associated flanged end (62) of each of the at least one horizontal tube (52) of the cup-lock scaffold system (56) so as to allow the coupler clamp (50) to detachably attach the at least one horizontal tube (52) of the cup-lock scaffold system (56) to any elevation of the vertical tube (54) of the cup-lock scaffold system(56).
Abstract:
A multi-conductor medical electrical lead comprises a connector located at a proximal end of the lead, one or more electrodes located at a distal end of the lead and a co-radial multi-conductor coil connecting the connector with the electrode(s), wherein the coil has a lead body region with co-radially wound conductors and has an inductance greater than or equal to approximately 1.5 µH.
Abstract:
A lumen seal of a medical electrical lead includes an outer surface adapted to form a portion of an exterior surface of the medical electrical lead and an inner surface adapted to seal off a lumen of the lead and yet allow passage of an elongate member that is slidably engaged within the lumen of the lead. The seal further includes a portion in which an agent is embedded, the agent adapted to disperse from the portion out through the outer surface of the seal.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a method includes a shaft (320) having a side catheter guide (330) attached thereto via a guide coupler (340) into an inferior vena cava and a superior vena cava such that the guide coupler (340) is disposed in a right atrium, and applying a distal force to a proximal portion of the side catheter guide (330) such that a distal end of the side catheter guide (330) deflects laterally about the guide coupler (340) towards a septum. The method further includes extending a side catheter (360) that is disposed within the side catheter guide (330) distally from the side catheter guide (330) towards and into contact with the septum. The method further includes, with the side catheter (360) in contact with the septum, extending a septum penetrator (370) that is slidably disposed within the side catheter (360) distally from the side catheter (360) such that the septum penetrator (370) pierces the septum.
Abstract:
One or more inductors and one or more capacitors are physically disposed relative to one another in series and are electrically connected to one another in parallel to form a bandstop filter. Chip inductors and chip capacitors having spaced apart conductive terminals are physically arranged in end-to-end abutting relation to minimize electrical potential between adjacent conductive terminals. The bandstop filter may be hermetically sealed within a biocompatible container for use with an implantable lead or electrode of a medical device. The values of the inductors and the capacitors are selected such that the bandstop filter is resonant at one or more selected frequencies, such as an MRI pulsed frequency.

Abstract:
A medical electrical lead includes a canted lead body distal portion extending from an approximately straight lead body proximal portion and including an approximately straight segment and a hump-like segment extending from a first end, in proximity to the approximately straight segment, to a second end. A first electrode is coupled to the approximately straight segment of the distal portion and a second electrode coupled to the distal portion in proximity to a second end of the hump-like segment. A medical electrode includes an active surface extending from a first end to a second end and has a maximum outer diameter exceeding an outer diameter of the both the first end and the second end. The electrode further includes a recess formed in the active surface and an agent held in the recess and adapted to disperse out from the recess upon implantation of the electrode.
Abstract:
A breastpump assembly is disclosed. The breastpump assembly includes a breast shield within which a woman's breast is received, a conduit structure communicating with the breast shield, a container for collecting milk, and a valve mechanism closing the breastpump assembly from ambient air when initially provided to a user, the valve mechanism being opened to allow ambient air to pass into the breastpump assembly through removal of the container, so as to substantially disable the breastpump.
Abstract:
A core component of a medical electrical lead extends within an inner conductive surface of a conductive ring such that an outer surface of the core holds a portion of a conductor against the inner conductive surface for electrical contact therewith. The outer surface of the core may be deformed by a compressive force of the conductor portion having been forced against the inner surface of the ring. Such a conductor junction may be formed by pushing the ring over the core to capture the conductor portion between the ring and the core and thereby displace a layer of insulation surrounding the conductor portion. The inner surface of the ring preferably has a diameter at one, or both terminal ends that is greater than a diameter of the inner surface between the ends.
