The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for controlling reeling used in connection with the making of paper/board/some equivalent web-like material, in which reeling a reeler is used, which comprises a reeling element (2), a reeling core (T), around which the web (W) is reeled to form a reel (3), as well as elements for loading the reeling core (T) and the reeling element (2) against each other in order to bring about a reeling nip (N) in between the reeling element (2) and the reel (3). In the method according to the invention, the reeling is monitored by a detection apparatus, which automatically detects any events differing from normal reeling. The apparatus according to the invention comprises means for automatic detection of events differing from normal reeling.

The present invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for feeding gaseous or liquid fluid into a medium. The method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention are especially suitable in various fields of industry for mixing gaseous and liquid chemicals and steams into a flow containing at least liquid . The method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention are most preferably suitable for feeding steam into the fiber suspensions of wood processing industry. Most preferably the method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention is used, for example, in such a way that a side flow is taken from a first medium flowing along a suction duct (16) of a centrifugal pump (10), which side flow is recirculated by means of a conduit (18) and into which second medium is fed via a duct (24) in such a way that said side flow and second medium are fed into said first medium flowing in the suction duct (16) prior to taking said side flow from said first medium in view of the main flow direction of said first medium.

The target of the invention is a method and a system to control a reeling profile of a material web reel (30), when, in the forming of the reel a web is reeled around a reeling core and when in an adjustment of CD- directional profiles of the web reel, profiling devices (8) have been applied. Characteristic of the invention is that for adjusting quality profiles and reeling profiles of the web, profiling devices are managed with the help of profile measurings of the roller nip and/or of the profile measurings of the reel (30), which are obtained from the reel-up (2). The target of the invention also a measuring device (40) for a measuring of a CD-directional hardness profile of the fibre web reel, which measuring device includes a measuring head (43), which is connected with a loading means (41, 42), which loads the measuring head against the fibre web reel. Characteristic of the device is that the motion course of the measuring head is linear.

A method of and apparatus for monitoring flow velocity in a fluid flow system, the method comprising the steps of injecting multiple RFID-tags at an injecting location, measuring final presence data of the RFID-tags at a final measuring location downstream of said injecting location by a RFID-transceiver, and calculating a flow velocity by using the measured final presence data. The flow system may be a pipeline system and it may comprise a tank, whereby measuring locations may be on the enclosure of, or within, the tank, to enable calculation of the flow velocity profile in the tank. The method and apparatus are especially suitable for monitoring flow velocity of medium consistency process fluid of chemical or mechanical wood processing industry.

In accordance with the invention, an electrostatic charge (4, 5) is established to at least a part of the width of the track, and a laterally influencing force is directed to the charged track with the help of an electric field.

An arrangement in a curtain coater for a paper/board web for precluding the drying of a coating mix on a lip portion (13) of the application bar, wherein the arrangement comprises means (3) for feeding steam and/or moist air at a desired temperature and moisture to the proximity of the lip portion (13) and a down-flowing coating curtain (32), whereby the moisture content and/or temperature of air surrounding the lip portion (13) and the coating curtain (32) are/is adjustable for controlling the drying of the mix.
