Abstract:
An isotropic aqueous liquid detergent composition comprising: (a) from 0% to 6%, preferably from 1% to 4% by weight of synthetic anionic surfactant; (b) from 5% to 25%, preferably from 10% to 20% by weight of soap; (c) from 0.03% to 5%, preferably from 0.10% to 1% by weight of a cationic polymer; and from 0.03% to 5%, preferably from 0.10% to 1% by weight of a cationic polymer or copolymer comprising at least one monomer unit which is cationic or carries at least one positive charge or carries a dipole moment greater than 3.5; and (d) from 5% to 70%, preferably from 10% to 30% by weight of nonionic surfactant
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cleaning composition comprising an immiscible liquid system having at least one liquid-liquid interface with an interfacial tension greater than 5 mN/m. The less polar solvent in the system has a carbon chain length of at least 4, or is a silicone with more than 3 SiO units. The composition furthermore comprises from 0.001-20% by weight of a benefit agent such as a fluorescer, a dye transfer inhibitor, a fabric softening agent or an anti-redeposition agent. The compositions provide for an improved delivery and efficacy of the benefit agents in e.g. a fabric cleaning process.
Abstract:
A process for encapsulating a benefit agent and/or colorant for personal care or detergent compositions, the process comprising immersing an emulsion or a dispersion containing the benefit agent and/or colorant into an aqueous curing solution containing a high HLB surfactant and/or a super-wetting agent. The preferred process further includes increasing the density of the droplets, to allow for easier penetration into the curing solution.
Abstract:
An oral hygiene kit comprising an oral care composition for use in a toothbrushing regime and, independently therefrom, a plaque disclosing means, characterised in that the plaque disclosing means is capable of being used before a toothbrushing session such that any plaque present on the surfaces of the teeth can be indicated to the user prior to brushing with the oral care composition.
Abstract:
Oral composition comprising: (a) an alkyl hydroxybenzoate represented by formula (1) wherein R represents an alkyl group comprising at least five carbon atoms, and (b) from 1.3 to 1.7% by weight of the composition a surfactant.
Abstract:
A method of washing and rinsing a textile fabric using wash and rinse product comprises:-(a) placing in a water permeable receptacle, a wash composition and a rinse composition;(b) contacting a washing step comprising contacting the receptacle and the fabric into contact with a wash liquor; and(c) subsequent to the washing step (b), a rinse step comprising contacting the receptacle and the fabric with a rinse liquor. The rinse composition is formulated such that release of at lest some of the rinse composition is delayed until the rinse step. Unit dose products for use in the method are also claimed.
Abstract:
The invention provides water continuous or bicontinuous fat emulsions, comprising fat, protein, humectants and relatively low amounts of water and which emulsions display an water activity of 0.6 to 0.8 and have a shelf life at ambient temperature of more than 6 months. A method of preparing the emissions is also provided.
Abstract:
A cover for a handle of a motorised toothbrush wherein the cover is firmly and removeably attachable to the handle, characterised in that the toothbrush can be used with the cover in place.
Abstract:
The invention concerns aqueous liquid abrasive cleaning compositions comprising at least 3, but less than 10% mineral abrasive and a lamellar phase structuring system comprising 2-12% of a mixture of nonionic and synthetic anionic surfactants wherein at least 40% of the anionic surfactant consists of alkyl-(EO)n-sulphate salt with n having a value of 1-10 and the ratio of synthetic anionic surfactant to nonionic surfactant is between 4:1 and 1:2.
Abstract:
The invention provides a substantially encapsulated food additive particle comprising: a) an inorganic, porous core in which one or more water-soluble functional ingredients are impregnated, and b) a hydrophobic, water-insoluble outer coating having a melting point of greater than 100oC and comprising one or more multivalent metal salts of fatty acids of chain length not less than 8.The particles exhibit good resistance to degradation in food articles, upon storage and during cooking but breakdown after consumption to make the functional ingredients bio-available to the body. A method of making the particles and food articles comprising the same are also provided.
