An implant strip is disclosed. In some cases, the prosthesis can take the form of an implant strip that may be implanted through the use of a surgical procedure that minimizes incision sizes and may be considered less invasive than typical spinal implant procedures. The implant strip includes provisions for implantation, including teeth, spacing provisions and various shapes.
Abstract:
A prosthesis deployment device that includes a driving assembly, including a driving tube and a driving pin, and a driven assembly, including a driven tube and a driven pin, providing a two-stage implantation process. A further aspect provides a deployment device for a tissue repair system that includes a front delivery assembly that is detachable from a base assembly. The front delivery assembly can be rotated so that the position of a prosthesis is moved in and out of alignment with a driving assembly. A kit of parts may be provided that includes a base assembly and multiple detachable front delivery assemblies. A further aspect provides a prosthesis that expands during implantation, and includes a driving portion that helps drive the prosthesis during a first stage of implantation, and a base portion that expands or splays open during a second stage. A further aspect provides a method and system of implanting multiple prostheses, which houses prostheses within a front delivery assembly and deploys the prostheses using an impact force generated within the base assembly. A further aspect provides a prosthesis deployment device that includes a driving assembly that can impact a driven assembly multiple times.

A tissue repair system is disclosed. The tissue repair system can include a prosthesis with a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate portion disposed therebetween. The first end portion can engage the second end portion when installed to retain tissue in a desired configuration. The tissue repair system can also include a delivery device configured to implant and fasten the prosthesis to repair imperfections in tissue or retain tissue in a desired configuration. The delivery device may be configured to fasten the first end portion and second end portion of the prosthesis on a distal portion of the tissue.

A total knee arthroplasty (TKA) set that includes a universal cutting jig for shaping the distal femur is disclosed. The universal cutting jig may be used to create a shaped femur that can be receive multiple and different TKA implant designs. A universal high flexion knee system adapted for left-right use is also disclosed.

Devices and methods for preparing a surgical site, and in particular vertebral members, which may include a retractable tool and an actuator. The tool may include distal and proximal members. A distal side of the distal member may be fixed in a longitudinal direction and pivotable at a point of rotation. A proximal side of the proximal member may be pivotably connected to the actuator. In a retracted position, the distal member may be pivotably connected to the proximal member longitudinally in between the point of rotation and the proximal side of the proximal member. Moving the actuator in a distal direction may push the proximal member and the distal member such that the proximal member pivots with respect to the actuator and distal member, the distal member pivots with respect to the proximal member and point of rotation, and the proximal member and distal member move laterally outward.

An implantable prosthesis that includes a biased coiling member and a conforming coiling member. The biased coiling member may be biased to curve from a substantially linear configuration to a nonlinear configuration. The conforming coiling member may be engaged with and curved by the biased coiling member from the substantially linear configuration to the nonlinear configuration. The biased coiling member may define a longitudinal axis when in the substantially linear configuration. The biased coiling member and the conforming coiling member may move relative to each other along the longitudinal axis. The prosthesis may be implanted in a surgical procedure that minimizes incision sizes and may be considered less invasive than typical implant procedures, especially spinal implant procedures.

A dynamic stabilization device is disclosed. The device includes a dual spring member comprising an outer spring and an inner spring that have approximately equal working lengths. The dynamic stabilization device is also configured so that the dual spring member does not undergo stresses greater than an effective fatigue limit that is related to a fatigue limit of the spring.

A repair system including a closure prosthesis and deployment device, and associated methods for repairing any imperfection including a flaw, hole, tear, bulge, or, in some cases, a deliberate cut or incision in any tissue including an intervertebral disc is disclosed. The prosthesis has first and second side portions with a connecting central portion, and is designed to span an imperfection with opposite ends positioned on opposite sides of the imperfection or the same side of the imperfection. The prosthesis may include anchoring features including barbs and/or members that extend transversely or at different angles. The deployment device can include a cannula for positioning the prosthesis near the imperfection, and, in some cases, a mechanism that may cause the two sides of the prosthesis to be deployed in a specific order.
