Abstract:
Curved corrective lens configured to decode three dimensional content. The corrective lens may include a wafer formed of a high efficiency polarizer material layer over a lamination layer over an adhesion layer over a retardation layer, and a lens material to which the wafer is integrated and into which a prescription is ground. Photochromic materials may also be used to provide a self-darkening feature.
Abstract:
The use of a selected aminoalkyl glusoaminide 4-phosphate (AGP) CRX-547 to induce a TRIF biased response in a human system, which results in reduced levels of MyD88-dependent cytokines relative to the MyD88-dependent cytokines induced by its diastereomer AGP CRX-527.
Abstract:
Curved lenses configured to decode three dimensional content and method of fabricating the same. The lenses comprise a polyvinylalcohol polarizer film laminated with triacetate on both sides, wherein the polarizer film has a polarizing efficiency equal to or exceeding 99% and a transmittance percentage equal to or exceeding 35% and a retarder film (e.g., norbornene copolymer resin) laminated on a front surface of the polyvinylalcohol polarizer film laminated with triacetate and aligned to produce a desired circular polarization responsive to specified retardation wavelengths.
Abstract:
Compounds that are adjuvants and immunoeffectors are described and claimed. The compounds augment antibody production in immunized animals as well as stimulate cytokine production and activate macrophages. Compositions and methods for using the compounds as adjuvants and immunoeffectors are also disclosed.
Abstract:
This invention relates to processes for production of alkylamino glucosaminide phosphate compounds, and of disaccharide compounds, including various novel intermediates and intermediate processes. In one aspect, glycosyl halides are produced by reaction of an O-silyl glycoside with a dihalomethyl alkyl ether.
Abstract:
Apparatus and a method involving airborne ground-fire data-gathering for overlay mapping and fire-control purposes. From a methodologic point of view, the method includes, from an airborne platform, (a) gathering, for visual presentation and viewing purposes, related optical and thermal fire-perimeter data, (b) gathering critical-alignment evaluation data, such as air temperature, relative humidity, wind direction and speed, which is associated with and relevant to such optical and thermal data, and transmitting all of such data, effectively in a geophysically-linked manner, to a remote site for map-display viewing and evaluation. The method further includes applying to such gathered data selected critical-alignment, severity-scale parameters which are employable generally to rank, from lower to higher, fire severity conditions in terms of prioritizing the deployment of fire-fighting resources, and from, and on the basis of, such applying, effectively map-highlighting, also for viewing and evaluation, selected parts of the gathered data which indicate certain higher-severity fire conditions.
Abstract:
A reconfigurable physical therapy apparatus and a method of providing operator-selected stimuli to a patient are provided. The apparatus preferably has a physical therapy applicator including a transducer for applying a therapeutic treatment to a patient, and a memory for storing identification data representative of a plurality of physical ailments for each of a plurality of human body areas and a set of transducer operational parameters associated with each predetermined physical ailment and each predetermined body area. The apparatus also has an ailment display screen responsive to the memory device for displaying at least one of the identification data representative of a plurality of physical ailments which are associated with at least one of the identified human body areas. An ailment selector is positioned in electrical communication with at least the memory device and being responsive to operator selection of one of the identified physical ailments which are associated with human body areas for obtaining the associated transducer operational parameters. The apparatus further has a transducer reconfigurer positioned in electrical communication with the transducer of the applicator and being responsive to the ailment selector for reconfiguring the transducer to provide therapeutic treatment to the identified body part according to the obtained transducer operational parameters.
Abstract:
In certain embodiments, a method for milking stall assignment includes storing first location information associated with a dairy livestock, the first location information comprising a coordinate location of the dairy livestock within a milking parlor at a first time. The method further includes comparing the stored first location information associated with the dairy livestock with an area associated with each of a plurality of milking stalls of the milking parlor to identify a milking stall in which the dairy cow is located at the first time and assigning the dairy livestock to the milking stall in which the dairy cow is located at the first time such that data associated with milking of the dairy livestock may be associated with the dairy cow.
Abstract:
A biosensor system comprises a capillary substrate, conductive electrode, and a plurality of nanoparticles having an enzyme deposited thereon formed in a cavity at one end of the capillary substrate. The substrate may have an optional reinforcing layer (which may be conductive or non-conductive) and optional insulating layer thereon. A cannula having an optional conductive layer, insulating layer, and reference electrode may also form part of the system.
