Abstract:
A motorized window treatment is able to automatically control the position of a covering material hanging in front of a window in order to save energy. The motorized window treatment is operable to automatically control the covering material according to an eco-mode in response to at least one climate characteristic measured by a sensor of the motorized window treatment to save energy by decreasing the load on a heating and/or cooling system of the room in which the motorized window treatment is installed. The motorized window treatment may be operable to open the covering material on sunny winter days to allow the energy from the sunlight stores in the mass of the room, and then close the covering material at night to insulate the room and allow the energy from the sunlight stored in the mass of the room to heat the room and reduce the load on the heating and cool system at night.
Abstract:
A battery-powered motorized window treatment (310) for covering at least a portion of a window may be adjusted into a service position to allow for access to at least one battery (138) that is powering the motorized window treatment (310). A headrail of the motorized window treatment may be adjusted to the service position to allow for easy replacement of the batteries (138) without unmounting the headrail8114) and without requiring tools. The motorized window treatment (310) may comprise brackets (370) having buttons (372) that may be actuated to release the headrail (114) from a locked position, such that the headrail (114) may be rotated into the service position. The headrail (114) easily rotates through a controlled movement into the service position, such that a user only needs one free hand available to move the motorized window treatment (310) into the service position and change the batteries (138).
Abstract:
A motorized window treatment (110) provides a low-cost solution for controlling the amount of daylight entering a space through a window (104). The window treatment (110) includes a covering material (112), a drive shaft, at least one lift cord rotatably received around the drive shaft and connected to the covering material (112), and a motor (150) coupled to the drive shaft for raising and lowering the covering material (112). The window treatment (110) also includes a spring assist unit (135) for assisting the motor (150) by providing a torque that equals the torque provided by the weight on the cords that lift the covering material (112) at a position midway between fully-open and fully-closed positions, which helps to minimize motor usage and conserve battery life if a battery (138) is used to power the motorized window treatment (110). The window treatment (110) may comprise a photosensor (164) for measuring the amount of daylight outside the window (104) and temperature sensors (160,162) for measuring the temperatures inside and outside of the window (104). The position of the covering material (112) may be automatically controlled in response to the photosensor (164) and the temperature sensors (160,162) to save energy, or may also be controlled in response to an infrared or radio-frequency remote control (118).
Abstract:
A pleated roller shade system allows a thin flexible shade fabric, such as, for example, silk, to be wrapped around a roller tube. The system comprises a pleating bar mounted parallel to the roller tube and having a fabric-receiving opening that defines, for example, a serpentine path. The shade fabric is received through the fabric-receiving opening and is folded by the pleating bar, such that the shade fabric is wrapped around the roller tube in folds as the roller tube rotates. The shade fabric is neatly wrapped around the roller tube (i.e., bunching of the shade fabric is avoided) and is stored out-of-sight when rolled up.
Abstract:
A system and method for making a food item are for provided. The apparatus includes a food item assembly and packaging station having a first work area assembling and packaging a food item and meal order assembly station having a second work area for assembling a meal order that includes a food item packaged on the first work surface. A conveyor is positioned beneath the first work area and extends from a position proximate to the first area to a position proximate to the second work area. A conveyor access opening is proximate to the first work area to provide worker access to the conveyor to permit manual placement of a food item assembled and packaged at the first work area onto the conveyor for conveying the packaged food item beneath the first work area to the location proximate the meal order assembly station.
Abstract:
A self-contained tensioned roller shade system that can be easily installed in an opening, such as a window or a skylight, is disclosed. The roller shade system includes a frame, a roller tube rotatably mounted between side channels of the frame adjacent a first end of the frame, and a shade fabric windingly received around the roller tube. A tensioning cord is operatively coupled between the roller tube and a fabric end of the shade fabric, and windingly received about the roller tube. A pulley is operatively coupled to the frame adjacent the second frame end and windingly receives the tensioning cord. The tensioning cord is adapted to bias the second fabric end toward the second frame end, the second fabric end of the shade fabric adapted to move between the first and second frame ends as the roller tube is rotated.
Abstract:
A stapler including a staple support device. The stapler includes a base, a magazine for holding staples having a front portion, and a staple driver for driving staples out of the magazine in a staple driving plane. The stapler also includes a nose piece coupled to the front portion of the magazine and a support device coupled to the nose piece. Staples in the magazine are supported on an outer surface by the magazine and on an inner surface by the support device.

Abstract:
A method for generating subtitles for audiovisual material received and analyses a text file containing dialogue spoken in audiovisual material and provides a signal representative of the text. The text information and audio signal are aligned in time using time alignment speech recognition and the text and timing information are then output to a subtitle file. Colours can be assigned to different speakers or groups of speakers. Subtitles are derived by receiving and analysing a text file containing dialogue spoken by considering each word in turn and the next information signal, assigning a score to each subtitle in a plurality of different possible subtitle formatting options which lead to that word. The steps are then repeated until all the words in the text information signal have been used and the subtitle formatting option which gives the best overall score is then derived.
