Abstract:
A system and method for determining an optimal combination drug product for a particular patient includes a processor that receives patient information and determines an optimal combination drug product based on the received information. A system which can provide information regarding predicted events or pathologies based on received patient information and guidance on subsequent steps to ameliorate, treat or intervent. A drug production device includes a plurality of drug containers, each of which are coupled to a drug dispensing channel. A controller controls the dispensing of drug through each channel, and a combination drug product is produced from the dispensed drugs. A combination drug product includes a plurality of discrete units of a first drug, and a plurality of discrete units of a second drug. A transdermal patch includes a plurality of drug compartments, each containing a quantity of drug product, and a controller for controlling the release of drugs from each compartment. Feedback loop elements can enable iterations to optimized personalized doses.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a clinically applicable method of stem cell transplantation that facilitates engraftment and reconstitutes immunocompetence of the recipient without requiring radiotherapy or chemotherapy, and without development of GVHD or graft rejection. Aspects of the present invention are based on the discovery that the depletion of the endogenous stem cell niche facilitates efficient engraftment of stem cells into that niche. In particular, the present invention combines the use of selective ablation of endogenous stem cells, in combination with the administration to the recipient of exogenous stem cells, resulting in efficient, long-term engraftment and tolerance.

Abstract:
Devices and methods for extraction of body tissue from an enclosed body cavity are disclosed. The devices can have one or more whisks extending from the distal end of flexible or rigid cannula. The devices can have aspiration and/or irrigation systems configured to provide aspiration pressure and/or irrigate with fluid at the distal end of the cannula. The cannula can be configured to rotate and/or oscillate. Methods for using the devices to disrupt the matrix of cancellous bone or bone marrow and extract in vivo cancellous bone or bone marrow from a subject are also disclosed.

Abstract:
A portable drug dispenser includes a chamber for holding a plurality of separately contained drug products, a dispensing mechanism for dispensing one or more of the plurality of drug products, and may optionally include a processor to determine the time of each activation of the dispensing mechanism and to transmit the determined time of activation to a computer located remote to the dispenser. The dispenser may include more than one chamber for holding drugs.
Abstract:
Device and method for rapid extraction of body tissue from an enclosed body cavity. Hollow entry cannula (101) with optional core element (104) provides entry into body tissue space such as bone marrow. Aspiration cannula (105) is inserted through entry cannula (101) into body tissue and is manipulated to advance directionally through body cavity. Optional stylet (106) within aspiration cannula (105) aids in advancing aspiration cannula (105) through body tissue and is removed to facilitate extraction of body tissue through the aspiration cannula (105). Inlet openings (150) near distal tip (130) of aspiration cannula (105) allow tissue aspiration, with negative pressure source at proximal end of aspiration cannula (105) providing controlled negative pressure. Aspiration cannula (105) may be withdrawn and its path adjusted for multiple entries through the same entry point, following different paths through tissue space for subsequent aspiration of more tissue.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a portable drug dispenser which includes one or more chambers for holding a plurality of separately contained drug products, a dispensing mechanism for accurately dispensing one or more of the plurality of separately contained drugs upon activation of the dispensing mechanism in a specified dose (e.g. specified volume/ number of drops) at specified times, and a processor configured to determine the time, and potentially other information such as, e.g. location, patient variables, user data input of each activation of the dispensing mechanism, and an ability to transmit the determined time of activation to a computer located remote to the dispenser, optionally stored on the device as well for read out by a clinician managing the patient.
Abstract:
Mouthpieces for fitting inside a user's mouth and cleaning the teeth, tongue, gums and/or roof of the mouth are provided. The mouthpiece is a hands free toothbrush designed to fit inside the mouth and clean the teeth, tongue, gums and/or roof of the mouth. The mouthpiece is made up of flexible material and is sized to fit the user's mouth. It contains intricately designed tube structures. It will clean the user's mouth, teeth, tongue and gums. The mouthpiece slips in to the mouth and fits or approximates the contour of an individual's teeth. When not in use, the mouthpiece can be kept in its own container for sanitary purposes.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for guiding surgical tools are disclosed. The guided surgical tools can be used to extract body tissue from an enclosed body cavity. The guide can have multiple channels for the surgical tools to pass through the guide. The channels can converge and exit at a single exit port. The channels can have distinct entry ports. The guide can have a configuration to provide stable seating at or adjacent to the target site.
