The compositions surprisingly provide improved hair colourant and bleaching compositions which deliver lift, lightening and colour, whilst minimizing damage and which provide the required viscosity both pre and post mixing of the first and second components.
Abstract:
A composition for promoting gastrointestinal and/or cardiovascular health comprising a gelling dietary fiber and a non-gelling dietary fiber in a weight ratio of from about 5:1 to about 1:2.5; a coating component and a wetting component in a weight ratio of from about 20:1 to about 1:1; wherein a weight ratio of coating component plus wetting component to said gelling dietary fiber or said non-gelling dietary fiber is from about 25:1 to about 1:5 is disclosed. Also disclosed herein is a composition for promoting gastrointestinal and/or cardiovascular health comprising a gelling dietary fiber; a non-gelling dietary fiber; and an amount of a coating component sufficient to coat the particles of the gelling dietary fiber, such that the water-absorbing ability is reduced and the organoleptic properties of the composition are improved. Methods of promoting gastrointestinal and/or cardiovascular health are also included.
Abstract:
Confectionery compositions comprising a candy base having improved stability are provided. Said candy base comprises one or more sugar bases, at least one edible organic acid, one or more xanthine derivatives and less than 1.9% of fructose by weight of said candy base. The confectionery compositions herein provide the stimulant effect of xanthine derivative and the energy of sugar bases without the negative aspects of opaqueness, stickiness and flavour modification.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides compositions comprising an extracted portion of psyllium seed in combination with one or more of a binder or edible acid. In particular, the present invention is directed to compositions comprising a polysaccharide component comprising xylose and arabinose, wherein the ratio of the xylose to the arabinose is at least about 3 : 1, by weight, and wherein the polysaccharide particles have a mean particle size distribution of from about 0.001 microns to about 150 microns. In a further embodiment, the compositions comprise a plurality of agglomerates comprising the polysaccharide component and a dispersing component selected from binders, suspending agents, edible acids, and mixtures thereof. In yet a further embodiment, the compositions comprise agglomerates comprising a polysaccharide component, wherein the agglomerates have a mean particle size distribution of from about 100 to about 500 microns. The present compositions are useful for the treatment of a variety of benefits, including providing treatment for gastrointestinal conditions or providing other gastrointestinal benefits.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides compositions comprising an extracted portion of psyllium seed in combination with one or more of a binder, suspending agent, or edible acid. In particular, the present invention is directed to compositions comprising: (a) a polysaccharide component comprising xylose and arabinose, wherein the ratio of xylose to arabinose is at least about 3 : 1, by weight; and (b) a dispersing component selected from the group consisting of binders, suspending agents, edible acids, and mixtures thereof. In a preferred embodiment, the compositions further comprise an aqueous liquid, for example, water or juice (e.g., fruit or vegetable juice). As such, the present invention further relates to methods of preparing a product comprising admixing the present compositions with an aqueous liquid. The present compositions are useful for the treatment of a variety of benefits, including providing treatment for gastrointestinal conditions or providing other gastrointestinal benefits.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides compositions comprising a plurality of agglomerates comprising a polysaccharide component comprising xylose and arabinose, wherein the ratio of xylose to arabinose is at least about 3 : 1, by weight; wherein the compositions further comprise: (i) optionally, a first surrounding layer which surrounds the agglomerate, wherein the first surrounding layer is a hydrophobic layer; and (ii) optionally, a second surrounding layer which surrounds the agglomerate, wherein the second surrounding layer is a hydrophilic layer; wherein the compositions comprise at least one of the first surrounding layer and the second surrounding layer, and wherein when the agglomerate comprises the first surrounding layer and the second surrounding layer then the first surrounding layer is a preceding layer relative to the second surrounding layer. In another embodiment, the disclosure provides compositions comprising a plurality of polysaccharide particles, wherein the polysaccharide particles comprise a polysaccharide component comprising xylose and arabinose, wherein the ratio of the xylose to the arabinose is at least about 3 : 1, by weight, and wherein the polysaccharide particles have a mean particle size distribution of from about 0.001 microns to about 150 microns, wherein the polysaccharide particles each, independently, comprise: (i) optionally, a first surrounding layer which surrounds the particle, wherein the first surrounding layer is a hydrophobic layer; and (ii) optionally, a second surrounding layer which surrounds the particle, wherein the second surrounding layer is a hydrophilic layer; wherein the polysaccharide particles each, independently, comprise at least one of the first surrounding layer and the second surrounding layer, and wherein when the particle comprises the first surrounding layer and the second surrounding layer then the first surrounding layer is a preceding layer relative to the second surrounding layer. The present compositions are useful for the treatment of a variety of benefits, including providing treatment for gastrointestinal conditions or providing other gastrointestinal benefits.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a base gum composition for preparing chewing-gum, said base gum comprising an intimate mixture of elastomer and abrasive silica, wherein the abrasive silica has an average particle size comprised between about 1 and about 8 microns. Said base gum composition for chewing-gum is useful for the fabrication of a chewing-gum composition which comprises i) from 15 % approximately to 80 % approximately of said base gum; and ii) from 85 % approximately to 20 % approximately of a composition of additives for chewing-gum, said composition comprising one or more organoleptic compounds. The chewing-gum thus obtained has good plate removal characteristics and a pleasant buccal feel.
