Abstract: Diagnostic apparatus (24) includes a sealed case (40), including a biocompatible material and configured for implantation within a body of a human subject (22). At least one antenna (42) is configured to be implanted in the body in proximity to a target tissue (28) and to receive radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic waves propagated through the target tissue and to output a signal in response to the received waves. Abstract: The invention is directed to a mobile hand held miniature laboratory system in general, and to fluid testing apparatus for performing a parameter measurement in a fluid sample and methods of use thereof in particular. The apparatus comprising: A strip adapted to absorb a fluid sample and to produce a signal indicative of said parameter level in said sample; and an adaptor adapted to connect said strip to a smart phone to thereby allow delivery of the produced signal or a correlated signal to said smart phone for obtaining a measurement of said fluid parameter displayed on said smart phone, wherein said testing apparatus relies on said smart phone at least for power supply and display means.

Abstract: Diagnostic apparatus (24) includes a sealed case (80), comprising a biocompatible material and configured for implantation within a body of a human subject (22). A dielectrometric probe (26, 50, 63, 66, 70, 102, 160) is connected to the case and includes first and second conductors (40, 42, 54, 56, 64, 67, 68, 72, 74, 162, 164), which are configured to be placed in proximity to a target tissue (34) in the body. A driving circuit (82), which is contained in the case, is coupled to apply a radio-frequency (RF) signal to the probe and to sense the signal returned from the probe. Processing circuitry (84) is configured to evaluate, responsively to the returned signal, a dielectric property of the target tissue.
