Abstract:
A wearable cardiopulmonary resuscitation assist device or system including: a wearable article to be worn by a cardiopulmonary resuscitation performer or a patient, for assisting administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the performer; at least one sensor for measuring at least one parameter to assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation; at least one feedback component for conveying feedback information based on the parameter to the performer for assisting the performer in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and a processing unit, the processing unit being configured to receive the at least one parameter from the at least one sensor and to send information based on the parameter to the at least one feedback component. Also a method for training or improving cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures using the device.
Abstract:
The fluid coupling assembly for retaining a sealed joint includes the first member adapted to be connected to a first fluid conduit with a per sealing surface and a series of axially aligned serrations along with helical threads. A second member of a complementary configuration is adapted to be connected to a second fluid conduit with complementary threads and an axially extending cylindrical collar with spaced axial notches forming cantilevered beams. Each of the cantilevered beams can have teeth capable of engaging a series of serrations to provide an appropriate resistant force for both sealing engagement and disengagement. The teeth and serrations can remain in contact to provide a visual determination of a pretorqued force between the first member and the second member.

Abstract:
The system comprises functionality for instructors to record their lessons in an easy method while allowing them to capture their teaching techniques with a tool which improves the effectiveness of the playback, by reverse scripting of the teachers motions and use of educational tools including blackboards, whiteboards, and tablet computers among others and automating highlight of the relevant multiple media channels for best emphasis during presentation. Access to the centralized lesson database will permit students to learn from the best teachers and instructors and can execute the system right on their desktops or portable computers or access it through a dedicated website. Playback may be personalized to the needs and preferences of each student and the conceptual content is essentially highlighted in video and audio to maximize didactic effectiveness of presentation.
Abstract:
A volume expansion feature for a fluid reservoir is provided, the volume expansion feature comprising a central recess, a plurality of channels extending from the central recess, where the central recess and the channels are positioned at least in part in a recessed surface profile. The recessed surface profile is reversibly moveable from a first inwardly directed configuration, to a second outwardly directed configuration. The central recess and the channels are configured to impart an inward bias to maintain the recessed surface profile in the first inwardly directed configuration under standard loading of the fluid reservoir. Upon increased pressure within the fluid reservoir, the recessed surface profile extends to the second outwardly directed configuration, thereby increasing the volume of the fluid reservoir.
Abstract:
Techniques to selectively capture media using a single user interface element are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a touch controller, a visual media capture component, and a storage component. The touch controller may be operative to receive a haptic engagement signal. The visual media capture component may be operative to be configured in a capture mode based on whether a haptic disengagement signal is received by the touch controller before expiration of a first timer, the capture mode one of a photo capture mode or video capture mode, the first timer started in response to receiving the haptic engagement signal, the first timer configured to expire after a first preset duration. The storage component may be operative to store visual media captured by the visual media capture component in the configured capture mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
