    Abstract: The side seal assembly consists of three main components: a hardened and precision ground side seal 12, a spring 14 and a housing 16 in which the side seal 12 and spring 14 are assembled. The side seal contains two tabs 22 that fit through a slot feature 24 in the housing. The tabs 22 on the side seal 12 slide through the housing slot 24 into a relief area 26 that allows the side seal 12 to turn 90 degrees and fall into a shallow pocket 28 that keeps the side seal 12 retained.

    Abstract: The fluid section or head (10) for a plural component applicator can be easily assembled or removed from the air section (12) by turning the fluid head 1/8 of a turn. The fluid head (10) has four tabs (14) that protrude and engage with four undercut features (16) within the handle (12). Tabs (14) are inserted through corresponding openings (16) in the front (12a) of air section (12) and rotated such that tabs (14) are retained behind lips (18). A locking tab feature (20) in the hose manifold (24) mates to a recess feature (22) in the handle (12) to prevent the fluid section (10) from rotating.

    Abstract: Enclosure (16) for housing a coupler (18) between a driving rod (20) and a driven rod (22) comprises a first and a second preferably cylindrical pieces (30, 28). Said pieces are sized so that the first piece (30) is able to slide telescopically within the second piece (28) and are threaded to engage each other when in operation the enclosure (16) is in a close position, thereby the enclosure (16) being able to retain lubricant in the inside. For service, after having drained the lubricant from the enclosure (16), the two pieces are loosened by screwing the first piece (30) until the end of the thread is reached, and then the first piece (30) is slideably telescoped into the second piece (28), thereby setting the enclosure (16) in an open position an enabling easy access to the rod coupler (18).

    Abstract: A two-piece collar (10) is rigidly clamped onto the hydraulic driver shaft (12) via two shoulder bolts (14). The collar halves (16) engage a tightly toleranced groove feature (18) on the spool (20) that is assembled onto the linear sensor shaft (22). The spool (20) houses a magnet (24) that sends a position signal to the sensor (26). As the hydraulic driver shaft (12) reciprocates during operation, the spool (20) moves along with it sending the position signal to the sensor (26) that tells the driver (28) to change direction.     Abstract: A two component spray gun with low/high flow rates allows the operator to spray in confined areas at lower flow without having to change the mix module. The lower flow reduces undesirable "spray back" and will also help reduce material waste. Pneumatic piston 12 travel, which determines on/off fluid flow, can be selected on the fly to either close the fluid ports 14 which stops fluid flow, partially open the fluid ports 14 which limits fluid flow, or to fully open the fluid ports 14 to allow for maximum flow.     Abstract: The hose manifold integrates fluid filtration using cylindrical mesh screens and incorporates a check valve backup fluid shut-off system into the hose manifold. Two threaded check valve assemblies (one assembly on the iso side, one on the resin side) with slip on cylindrical filter screens are assembled into the hose manifold to filter the iso and resin fluids.     Abstract: The advantage of this construction is that the time between manual cleanings of the frontal area of the gun can be lengthened or eliminated. The spray gun utilizes high pressure air forced through thin openings and that surround the spray tip, to eliminate the eddies in the air flow around the frontal area of the spray gun. One concentric thin opening surrounds the spray tip and is directed parallel to the direction of spray.
