    Abstract: A seal support system which tracks the process fluid pressure of one or more items of equipment and automatically maintains the barrier fluid pressure at a constant pressure differential, preferably higher, over the respective process fluid pressures specifically when the barrier fluid is intolerable to direct gas pressurisation. An example of such an application is an oil based barrier fluid. The system may also be employed with multiple pressure tracking means for use with multiple items of industrial equipment.

    Abstract: A seal cavity throat bushing is, for use with rotating fluid equipment having a seal cavity (5) which is defined by a rotary shaft (1 ) having an axis. A housing (3) surrounds at least at portion of the shaft and a sealing device (7) engages the shaft and the housing at one end of the cavity. The bushing comprises an annular element (15) which is adapted for a tight fit in the housing at the entrance to the cavity, the element having a radially outer cylindrical surface for contacting a cavity wall of the housing and a radially cylindrical surface having a diameter greater than that of the shaft to define a gap therebetween. The element is also provided with a first annular face surface (20) at the cavity entrance, a second annular face surface (21 ) at the cavity exit and a third annular face surface (22) which is positioned longitudinally between the first and second annular face surfaces. The third annular face surface is provided with at least one vane (23) which extends from a radially outer position to a radially inner position and which slopes from the third annular face, inwardly, towards the entrance to the cavity and the first annular face.

    Abstract: A seal cavity throat bushing is for use with rotating fluid equipment having a seal cavity which is defined by a rotary shaft having an axis. The shaft housing surrounds at least a portion of the shaft and a sealing device engages the shaft and the housing at one end of the cavity.
