Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for carrying out automatic, repetitive column chromatography according to which steps are repeatedly carried out in succession and at fixed points in time in each elution cycle. These steps include: a) rinsing the column; b) conditioning the column to a ballistic state; c) supplying the sample; d) eluting, and; e) a detector signal of a chromatographic measurement of the eluate is recorded, and an automatic fractionation of the eluate ensues according to the signal progression of the detector signal.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods providing data such as, for example, calibration and reagent information (30) over a network (6) to a measurement apparatus (4) which makes use of a consumable reagent (18) in a measuring process are disclosed. The present invention permits a measurement apparatus (4) to download the necessary code assignment (24) and calibration data (32) of the consumable reagent (18) by means of an electronic communication protocol from a host (33). The host (33) can be a software application running on a host computer (34), another measurement apparatus (50, 58) with or without a code-key slot used to read a memory device providing the above mentioned information (30), a dedicated connectivity device, such as a docking station (44), a portable memory reader (48), a remote computer (54), and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
The invention concerns transparent or translucent oil-in-water type microemulsions comprising an oil phase, substantially composed of components which are not readily volatile, and an aqueous phase, and containing one or a plurality of polyethoxylated oil-in-water emulsifiers and/or one or a plurality of polypropoxylated oil-in-water emulsifiers and/or one or a plurality of polyethoxylated and polypropoxylated oil-in-water emulsifiers. The microemulsions optionally further comprise one or a plurality of water-in-oil emulsifiers and contain less than 20 wt % emulsifiers relative to the total weight of the emulsion. The microemulsions are prepared by bringing a mixture of the basic components, comprising an aqueous phase, an oil phase, one or a plurality of the oil-in-water emulsifiers according to the invention, optionally one or a plurality of water-in-oil emulsifiers, and optionally further auxiliary, additive and/or active substances, to a temperature within or outside the phase-inversion temperature range, and then cooling the mixture to ambient temperature.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for repairing damage (2) to constructions in particular to pipelines (1) or ducts, wherein the damage (2) is temporarily at least mostly sealed to the environment by means of a repair device (3) and a mineral-based injected agent (17) introduced to the damaged point (2) and a corresponding two-component injected agent (17). The injected agent (17) is made from a cement component (Z) and an accelerator (B) containing a cement hardening accelerator (E), mixed in an injecting buffer (3) directly before application, for example, in a static mixer (16) and then applied to the damaged point (2). A long processing time for the individual components (Z, B) is thus achieved and a rapid bonding of the prepared injected agent (17), such that a rapid work progress can be achieved. The cement components (Z) containing cement and water and optionally bentonite and a solvent. The accelerator components (B) are made from the hardening accelerator (E), water and a latent hydraulic material, such as, for example, fly-ash or optionally bentonite. An approximately equivalent volume and similar flow properties can thus be achieved for both components (Z, B) with a high solids fraction and good reactivity.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use of a compound or a number of compounds from the group of the carbohydrates or carbohydrate derivatives as anti-adhesive active principles directed against micro-organisms, parasites and protozoa.
Abstract:
The invention concerns microemulsion gels based on oil-in-water type microemulsions, in which the droplets of the discontinuous oil phase are linked to one another by one or more cross-linking agents the molecules of which are characterised by having at least one hydrophilic region of an extent sufficient to bridge the usual gap between microemulsion droplets, and at least one hydrophobic region which can enter into hydrophobic interaction with the microemulsion droplets.
