Abstract:
An absorbent structure comprising absorbent polymer particles supported by a substrate layer and immobilized on this substrate layer by a thermoplastic adhesive material and further comprising a component sorbing oily substances that may migrate from the thermoplastic adhesive material is disclosed. The absorbent structure can be suitably incorporated in a disposable absorbent article.
Abstract:
A self-bonded corrugated web made from a primary pre-bonded web layer of substantially uniform thickness, which contains thermoplastic fibers, and which is arranged to form corrugations forming a corrugation pattern of parallel corrugation lines, which can be parallel to the longitudinal extension of the web, whereby the corrugated web is heat- or melt-fusion bonded in regions forming a primary bonding pattern of a plurality of primary bonding pattern lines, which are arranged non-parallel to the corrugation lines and which intersect at least two of the corrugation lines, thusly stabilizing the corrugations. Preferably, each of the corrugation lines of is connected to at least one neighboring corrugation line by at least one primary bonding pattern line. The primary bonding pattern can comprise first and second primary bonding pattern lines, which can define circumscribed regions, which are unbonded by the primary bonding pattern. The primary bonding pattern lines can be continuous lines, preferably straight lines, and it can consist of a secondary bonding pattern consisting of a plurality of bonding points. The corrugated web according preferably exhibits a low pressure loft of at least 18 [µm/(g/m 2 )]. The present invention further relates to an absorbent article comprising a self-bonded web as well as to a method for making such a self-bonded corrugated web.
Abstract:
A process is provided for making a bond between a first, relative hydrophilic nonwoven and a second relatively less hydrophilic nonwoven by use of a construction adhesive, by applying the adhesive only to the first more hydrophilic nonwoven; also provided are absorbent cores for absorbent article comprising such bonded nonwovens, and such absorbent articles.
Abstract:
An absorbent layer containing water-absorbing polymeric particles that are surface-treated and that are immobilized by a matrix, formed from a thermoplastic adhesive component, including a thermoplastic polymers and a specific plasticizer, and being free of low weight average molecular weight (e.g. below 1000, or below 2000 or even below 3000 g/mole) tackifiers and plasticizers. The absorbent articles may for example be adult incontinence articles, infant (e.g. baby, toddler) diapers, including training pants, and feminine hygiene articles, such as sanitary napkins.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing mercaptoacetyl triglycine labeled with a radionuclide, comprising the steps of adding a radionuclide to a solution that comprises a mercaptoacetyl triglycine dimer of formula VI, a reducing agent and optionally a transfer ligand and heating the thus obtained solution. The invention relates to the mercaptoacetyl triglycine dimer and its use in the method, to a kit for performing the method and to the formulation obtained from the method.
Abstract:
The present invention is a disposable absorbent article having a backsheet and a fecal management member joined to the backsheet. The fecal management member includes a backing and a sheet of fibers. The sheet of fibers have anchor portions in the backing at spaced bonding locations and have arcuate portions of the sheet projecting from the backing between bonding locations. The sheet of fibers includes additional fibers which are joined to at least some of the arcuate portions.
