    Abstract: A navigation system integrated with knowledge of active emergency alerting system alert data and up to date Doppler weather radar data, to provide a visual representation of an alert area and/or current weather patterns on a map, and to automatically navigate a subscriber device away from an affected area, e.g., an alert area, an area under severe weather. The inventive navigation system displays NEXRAD Doppler weather radar data on a map by integrating a NEXRAD feed into the map and allowing a user to enable/disable the NEXRAD feed as a map overlay. The inventive navigation system also automatically routes or reroutes a subscriber device to avoid areas under severe weather. The navigation system is also integrated with a conventional CMSP gateway in an emergency alerting system to provide: a visual representation of an alert area on a map and to automatically route/reroute a subscriber device around an alert area.

    Abstract: An integrated, detachable ear bud system that is attached to an associated wireless phone. The integrated, detachable ear bud system may be one ear bud, or pair of ear buds, or ear bud or ear buds including a microphone. In certain embodiments an integrated, detachable, attached auditory device is physically connected to its associated wireless phone via an extendable and retractable electrical cord, and integrated into the case of the associated wireless phone, to forcibly keep with the wireless phone even when not in use, preventing misplacement, loss, or even inadvertent separation from the wireless device. The ear buds may connect to a recharge port on the wireless phone, and be charged when the wireless phone is charging. When in its attached home position, the ear-mountable speaker may tuck into a mating cavity. A latch or magnet may assist in attaching the integrated, detachable ear bud to the wireless phone.

    Abstract: Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) emergency calls to an Emergency Response Center (ERC) are handled through a VoIP conference bridge on a VoIP service provider's soft switch. The soft switch works with a VoIP positioning center (VPC) to obtain location information, which is compared against a PSAP database to find an initial best-appropriate PSAP for the location of the emergency caller. The PSAP is issued an Invite message to join the conference, establishing an emergency call. Third parties such as police, ambulance may be issued Invite messages to join the conference. Cold transfers are avoided by Inviting participants to join a single emergency conference rather than passing an emergency call from party to party (e.g., from PSAP to police to ambulance, etc.) The PSAP, other emergency responders, and even the initial VoIP emergency caller may leave and rejoin the VoIP conference without dropping the conference between the others.

    Abstract: A temporary ENUM architecture assigns a temporary ENUM at call time. For an originated communication requiring routing to a party which needs a particular callback format not supported, the TempENUM provides consistency with the specific format required by the receiving party. The TempENUM is assigned for the duration of the call or communication, or for a given amount of time thereafter. The TempENUM service gateway includes a TempENUM database, a module that assigns a suitable TempENUM at the time of call routing, and a module that handles a lookup in the TempENUM database, and maps the assigned TempENUM to a calling party identifier (CgPID). The TempENUM database stores a TempENUM from a coordinator system and relates the actual calling party identifier (CgPID) for use in callback attempts. Either during the initial call or communication, or shortly thereafter, the receiving party uses the TempENUM number to return communication the initial caller.

    Abstract: Automatic notification is provided to pre-designated emergency contacts for a given wireless subscriber upon the occurrence of an emergency call from the subscriber.     Abstract: A cellular phone tracking scope tracks and visually maps the location and movement history of cellular phones in one or more cellular networks in a region of interest. The tracked cellular phones include detection and tracking of the location (latitude/longitude) of those that are not in use. With proper authorization, specific telephone numbers may be tapped, providing the ability to track an entire universe of cell phones by simultaneously displaying all phones within a specific boundary on a "tracking scope" similar to a radar scope.     Abstract: A radar/laser emission detector is augmented with a cellular communications capability to provide the capability to share emission detection information amongst drivers to give other drivers even more advanced warning.
