摘要: The subject matter described herein includes a mechanism called time-deterministic replay (TDR) that can reproduce the execution of a program, including its precise timing. Without TDR, reproducing the timing of an execution is difficult because there are many sources of timing variability - such as preemptions, hardware interrupts, cache effects, scheduling decisions, etc. TDR uses a combination of techniques to either mitigate or eliminate most of these sources of variability. Using a prototype implementation of TDR in a Java Virtual Machine, we show that it is possible to reproduce the timing to within 1.85% of the original execution, even on commodity hardware. Several potential applications of TDR are described herein. A study of one of the applications is described in detail: the detection of a covert timing channel. Timing channels can be used to exfiltrate information from a compromised machine; they work by subtly varying the timing of the machine's outputs, and it is this variation that can be detected with TDR. Unlike prior solutions, which generally look for a specific type of timing channel, our approach can detect a wide variety of channels with high accuracy.

摘要: Low activity of angiotensin converting enzyme2 (ACE2) and its product, angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)] appear to contribute to pulmonary hypertension (PH). Long-term delivery of ACE2 or Ang-(1-7) require stability and ease of administration to increase patient compliance. Chloroplast expression of therapeutic proteins enables their bioencapsulation within plant cells to protect from acids and gastricenzymes and to facilitate absorption. Rats fed with bioencapsulated ACE2 or Ang-(1-7) exhibited improved heart function. A combination of ACE2 and Ang-(1-7) augmented the beneficial effects. Experiments indicate that this method is suitable for the treatmen or inhibition of experimental uveitis and autoimmune uveoretinitis These studies provide proof-of-concept for transplastomic technology as a novel low-cost oral ACE2 or Ang-(1-7) delivery system.

摘要: The subject matter described herein includes a modular and extensible approach to integrate noisy measurements from multiple heterogeneous sensors that yield either absolute or relative observations at different and varying time intervals, and to provide smooth and globally consistent estimates of position in real time for autonomous flight. We describe the development of the algorithms and software architecture for a new 1.9 kg MAV platform equipped with an IMU, laser scanner, stereo cameras, pressure altimeter, magnetometer, and a GPS receiver, in which the state estimation and control are performed onboard on an Intel NUC 3rd generation i3 processor. We illustrate the robustness of our framework in large-scale, indoor-outdoor autonomous aerial navigation experiments involving traversals of over 440 meters at average speeds of 1.5 m/s with winds around 10 mph while entering and exiting buildings.
