Abstract:
A dual inductor assembly is provided that includes a holder in which first and second inductors have been inserted in order to provide a compact package as a single unit. The holder is designed to provide secure engagement of the inductors to improve shock and vibration performance. The configuration of the dual inductor assembly further allows for easier inspection of solder joints due to the housing configuration as well as the location of the leads on the inductor body.

A shielded inductor and a method of making a shielded inductor are provided. The shielded inductor includes a core body surrounding a conductive coil, leads in electrical communication with the coil, and a shield covering at least parts of the outer surface of the core body. An insulating material may be provided between parts of the core body and parts of the shield. A method of making a shielded inductor is also provided.
Abstract:
Electro-magnetic devices are provided, having conductive elements and leads of multiple thicknesses. Templates are provided for making electro-magnetic devices, formed by an extrusion process, a skiving process, a swaging process, 3D printing, or a machining process. The multi-thickness electro-magnetic devices may comprise a conductive element having an increased thickness area, and one or more leads having at least one decreased thickness area, having a thickness less than the increased thickness area. An electro-magnetic device may be provided comprising a conductive element having an increased thickness encased in a body formed from a core material, and leads or lead portions connected to the conductive element having a decreased thickness.
Abstract:
Resistors and a method of manufacturing resistors are described herein. A resistor includes a resistive element and a plurality of upper heat dissipation elements. The plurality of heat dissipation elements are electrically insulated from one another via a dielectric material and thermally coupled to the resistive element via an adhesive material disposed between each of the plurality of heat dissipation elements and a surface of the resistive element. Electrode layers are provided on a bottom surface of the resistive element. Solderable layers form side surfaces of the resistor and assist in thermally coupling the heat dissipation elements, the resistor and the electrode layers.
Abstract:
A plurality of resistors are disclosed herein. The resistor may include one or more resistive elements and a plurality of conductive portions. Openings or slots, which can be configured to adjust temperature coefficient or resistance (TCR) values of the resistor, are formed in the resistive elements. The shape, quantity, and orientation of the openings or slots can vary. In one aspect, header assemblies are provided for securing or holding pins relative to the resistors.
