Abstract: A gasket used as a gasket for fuel cell or a gasket for HDD, comprising a sheet-like gasket mounting member having a sticking function on one face thereof and a gasket body of rubber-like elastic material formed integrally with the sheet-like gasket mounting member, whereby, even if a mating mounted member such as a separator is formed of a material or a sheet of low strength, the mating mounted member can be easily integrated with the gasket by the sticking function of the sheet-like gasket mounting member, and a mounting workability can be increased.

Abstract: A fuel cell, comprising a membrane electrode composite formed by disposing catalyst layers on both surfaces of an electrolytic membrane to prevent a damage to the electrolytic membrane and facilitate the assembly process of the cell, first and second gas diffusion layers disposed on both surfaces of the membrane electrode composite, a separator for feeding reaction gas to the first and second gas diffusion layers, and gaskets for sealing the reaction gas, wherein the gaskets are formed on the surfaces of the gas diffusion layers opposedly to the separator, at least the gasket forming portions of the gas diffusion layers are low in porosity than the portions in contact with the catalyst layers, and the gaskets disposed on the first and second gas diffusion layers are formed integrally with each other through a through-hole commonly passing at least the first and second gas diffusion layers.
