Abstract:
A multi-panel sign system including first and second panels, and an adhesive-based fastener. The panels include a panel body and complimentary, first and second interlock structures. The panel body defines a front face for maintaining indicia, and first and second sides. The first and second interlock structures are located adjacent the first and second sides, respectively, and project opposite the front face. In an assembled stated, the first interlock structure of the first panel mechanically locks with the second interlock structure of the second panel to establish a interlocked joint, and the adhesive-based fastener is bonded to the first and second panels. The interlocked joint robustly maintains the panels relative to one another, whereas the adhesive-based fastener serves to prevent inadvertent sliding of the panels. Optically active sheeting can be applied to the front face of the panels, and desired indicia applied to the sheeting.

The present disclosure relates generally to cold chain packaging, cold chain packaging articles and devices, and methods of making and using the cold chain packaging, articles, and devices. The cold chain packaging, articles, and devices of the present disclosure include (1) one or more "Phase Change Materials" (PCMs); and (2) one or more protective coverings that are adjacent to the PCM and that protect the PCM and/or item to be shipped from the environment during shipping and transport.
Abstract:
Sheet article comprising a first wall, second wall, and porous scrim between the first and second walls, and at least one seal portion sealing the first wall, second wall, and porous scrim together, as well as packaging articles and constructions comprising the same, and methods of making and using the foregoing sheet articles, packaging articles, and constructions.
Abstract:
Containers (100), for example boxes, envelopes, mailers, and the like containing one or more deployable cushioning sheets (1500) are disclosed. The deployable cushioning sheets (1500) are connected to at least one wall of the containers (100) and can be deployed to be partially outside of the container for cushioning, for example by wrapping, an object (1600) to be packaged. The deployable cushioning sheets (1500) can contain, for example, paper, cardboard, foam, bubble film, or the like, or they can contain combinations of different types of materials. The containers (100) are useful in methods of packaging, storing, and shipping, among other uses.
Abstract:
A device is described having one or more conductive loops to produce an electromagnetic field, such as for wireless power transfer to an electronic device. In some examples, an antenna is used with at least one resonating capacitor ring that is relatively co-planar with the antenna, and that is magnetically coupled to the antenna but is not electrically powered by an external source. In addition, a device is described having two or more thin-film coils, each coil comprising a pair of terminals and at least one loop defining a plane and an interior region. In some examples, the planes of the two or more coils are disposed substantially parallel to one another, the interior regions of the two or more coils at least partially overlap one another, and the pairs of terminals of the antennae are electrically connected in parallel.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to crush resistant packaging materials and/or constructions and to methods of making and using them. Many embodiments provide crush resistance in addition to customizability.
Abstract:
Coextruded polymeric article comprising first segments each having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness, the first segments comprising first material; second segments comprising second material, wherein adjacent first segments are joined together via a second segment, wherein at least 10 percent by number of the second segments extend from the second major surface past the first major surface of each first adjacent segment and has a distal end, the second segments having first and second opposed major surfaces, wherein there is a gap between adjacent second segments; and adhesive on the first and second major surfaces of at least every other second segment except a portion of the major surface adjacent to the respective distal end is free of the adhesive, wherein the first segments, second segments, and adhesive each extend continuously for at least 5 mm. Uses for coextruded polymeric articles described herein include adhesive articles and household cleaning products (e.g., as mops, dusters, brushes, cleaning cloths, and lint rollers).
Abstract:
An electronically activated mailer capable of containing one or more articles to be shipped and having an activation code on the mailer or a receipt for it. The purchaser or user of the mailer scans the activation code, such as a QR code, using a digital camera on a mobile phone and, upon receiving the scan, the mobile phone is linked to a web application. The validity of the activation code is verified, possibly using a verification code on the mailer. Upon verifying the activation code, the mailer is activated to receive via the web application destination and return addresses and pick-up information for the mailer. The pick-up information payment are provided to a carrier for delivery of the mailer. Purchase of the mailer can also possibly be used to access shipping services via the web application.
Abstract:
The present application relates to compostable articles and compositions including at least one biodegradable polymer and a hydrophobic agent. In some embodiments, the compostable articles and compositions include a second biodegradable polymer, different from the first biodegradable polymer. In some embodiments, the first biodegradable polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene succinate) (PES), poly(trimethylene succinate) (PTS), poly(butylene succinate) (PBS), poly(butylene succinate co-butylene adipate) (PBS A), poly (butylene adipate co-terephthalate) (PBAT), poly(tetramethylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PTAT), and thermoplastic starch. In some embodiments, the presently described articles include packaging.
Abstract:
A method for making a magnetic pavement marker having an array of magnetic pavement elements arranged in a predefined pattern interconnected by a carrier web. After the array of magnetic pavement elements is applied to the pavement surface, the portion of the carrier web surrounding the magnetic pavement elements is removed or allowed to substantially deteriorate and dissipate, leaving an array of discrete, magnetic pavement elements.
